We are presently with AOL, for BB
Sky for TV
& Talk Talk for phone.

Both got O2 mobiles & DH has that cheap 3 deal for his mobile internet.

I have mobiles BARRED at the exchange with Talk Talk, I do need this. BT don't offer mobile only barring, you have to have non local calls barred with it. Hardly ever make daytime calls, never make international.

I would like cheap or free tech support for BB.

Only other question, I've had my AOL email address since God was a boy, will I loose this? Is their anyway around it?

Can't get Virgin for TV in my area

Thanks for any advice, suggestions.

    • I use a small company called NewNet for BB: fantastic!! Their technical number is an 'ordinary' number beginning 01, with a friendly, knowledgeable person at the other end.
    • My phone calls are through BT. If you wanted to bar numbers you could use a V4 router. Loads of threads on the V4. (All my mobile calls go through www.18185.co.uk using V4.)
    • I used to have a Sky subscription; now just use it for free to view channels. Have a proper motorised system which gives me all the 3 o'clock EPL football! Cheaper than a year's Sky subscription.
    • Don't use mobile so much; use ASDA mobile.

To be honest I would rather a trusted brand for my BB, I tend to play safe.

I've looked at Talk Talk BB & BT BB, both seem to be about £15, so a bit more than I'm paying now.

Virgin are offering a good deal too, but its a phone & BB deal.

I've not been able to use AOL, since Friday night & their tech help is useless, I'm fed up with them.

Be grateful if anyone can advise me on if I "have" to loose my AOL email addresses if I leave AOL, at least in the immediate future.
  • How about you try O2 for home BB? You should get a discounted rate since you are a mobile customer.

    And this post might help:

Trusted does not equal big. AOL are big but I would hardly call them trusted.

I also play safe: it means paying a pound or two a month more, but in return I never lose or drop my connexion; nor do I suffer any traffic shaping.

Instead of cancelling, try and move onto a dial up package with them. Won't cost you anything (you'll never dial up) but you get to keep the e-mail addy.

I'm in the process of moving from Sky to O2 for BB. 3 months free, discounted monthly price for O2 customers plus cashback from quidco (should be £50 but tracked as £70 ). It'll cost less than a tenner for a year's BB.

Remember, you get exactly the same BB whatever company you're with - it's all BT lines, it just depends who you pay for it ;)*

We were with AOL for years. We cancelled in 2006 but we can still use our email addresses to this day. Not sure if now you have to ask for access to them still though, so worth checking that out.

We have Sky for TV, landline, phone line and BB. Never had a problem with them at all and if you take the phone with sky, it's free to ring them if you do have any problems with anything.

    Hope that helps! :)

If you value your sanity, don't ever try to move from Sky BB

I was thinking about Virgin, how are they different?

Is it just that they have their own lines?
