I sold and bought in Wiltshire moved in 2 weeks ago, all 5 properties that we were slightly interested in have all sold sstc. Infact if we were looking now there would be nothing in area I wanted to move to in our price range.

Hi hostiegirl, I'd be interested to know how close to the asking price you went when you bought your house?, and what was your buyers offers were like?.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'm afraid not....and my search terms aren't finding the right thread on the economy board....doubt it was massive TBH. ;) (I'm generally bearish ATM but it doesn't make sense to ignore figures that don't suit my thoughts :)). I vaguely noticed because Wiltshire is a country we are looking in, but I didn't panic....so can' have been to heinous.

    Good luck! :)

Further to this: although I still can't remember:o if you ask next door this question on the ecnomy/house prices board some one will know exactly. :)

There is good activity in the Chippenham area, which can only be a good sign.

Not every buyer is out to slaughter the seller. Some people actually like a house and want to live in it for 10/15 years or more. These kind of people won't be worried about a few thousand pounds, especially when interest rates are so low right now.

    Pair game

A few thousand!?!? Try a few ten thousand. They will be bothered when interest rates shoot through the roof next year...

Not everyone has the same outlook as you my friend. I guess we will have to wait and see. If you know anyone that wants to buy a detached 3 bedroom house with....

    Garage
    Conservatory (mahogany)
    Double glazing (mahogany)
    2 brand new bathrooms
Brand new oak kitchen with brand new Neff dishwasher, hob, oven and extractor
Off road parking for 2 cars
    Brand new vailliant condensing boiler
Well kept front and back gardens
4 mintues walk from primary school and doctors

That has been plastered and decorated throughout, just let me know, We'll consider any offer.......;)

Take it you saw all that future potential here in the UK then!

Seriously, I am jealous... Would move to Norway at the drop of a hat if I had the choice. Unfurtunately, the OH makes those sorts of decisions for me... (or at least gets tearful at the thought of moving more than 5 minutes away from family...)

    Have you considered rental instead?

Like alot of people we saw this mess coming, that is why we took the back exit and left to Norway. We wasn't in any trouble but thought it would be nice jump ship for a year or two to see how things pan out.

We let our place out 11 months ago to a brilliant tenant, who actually wants to extend the let at last years rental value, were not complaining.

To be honest we don't know what we're going to do, we want the money to build or buy here, but at the same time we like having the rental income. If only we had a crystal ball ...:o

Has the OH ever been to Norway?.
