Have to lose about another 8lbs and then I lose a sachet and gain about 4oz protein to have with my salad. Hopefully then the phasing off will come thick and fast as phase 1 is the longest you have to lose 70% of your weight on phase 1 another 20% on phase 2 and the final 10% on phase 3 phases 4 to 7 are timed phases so shouldn't be too long and then a final test to see what I should eat to maintain and then another test after 12 months to reassess when the metabolic rate should be stabilised it is the phasing off that attracted me to the diet (and the relatively short diet duration) as the real work starts when the weight is off and they seem to provide lots of help and support for maintenance.

Thanks to Firewalker and Hypno I am reading memory Girls thread very interesting as is Firewalker's which I have only discovered recently I have been guilty of only reading subscribed threads but feel I am being led to read other diaries and there are seem really interesting ideas out there which I intend to investigate lots to read though but fascinating hoping I can incorporate some of these ideas into my life as I feel I need some new direction. The weightloss is a first and very important step but it needs to lead to something more the question is what?

    Hi DT,

I've been reading your diary - never posted but it is time. Very impressed with the weight loss and the rest.

    Keep well

I also find that only read subscribed threads, but there are quite a few of them! I tend to trundle round some others at weekends when I have more time. A few people have taken up the idea of TADA lists, where you list what you have done, not what you hope to achieve, a bit like the 'what small dfw things....thread' ; but I can't remember who first started it.

Well as you now know I have been lurking on your thread for the last few days but haven't posted yet although I have read it all and subscribed - I have a lot to think about and some ideas are already fermenting but need to get some shape to it but your diary has certainly sent me in a new direction which is being reinforced by what I have read so far on memory girl's thread - not finished that yet but hope to tonight :D

    So many thanks

  • Well thanks to Firewalker and Memory Girl I have decided to move things on a bit.

Due to our family and on reflection financial circumstances we have decided not to do the major building project although it will have to be done at some time as we suffer with mould in the corners of our north facing rooms not due to damp as we have had the damp people in who I have to say I can thoroughly recommend so if anyone in North Wales has a damp problem contact me and I will let you have their details. We have used them several times over the last few years when we have had damp problems (the joys of buying old houses) and their advice has been spot on and often didn't involve using their services in the end as they have pointed out what needed doing which was often something quite simple such as air vents etc. and they were reasonable. The problem is airflow and temperature differential and the only real way to sort it would be to put the underfloor heating in (which I something I really want) one of the things to put on my "secret" list.

So the dilemma now is how to make the house clutter free and more workable on a limited budget and without spending money on stuff that will be affected by the building project when it finally takes place - I have lots of ideas.

I started yesterday by completely emptying the attic OK it is not very big as it is only the attic over what was my office and is now OS's room but it was crammed full this has all been sorted and the necessary stuff put back and three piles made, one for selling (hate this but I have some stamps and first day covers so really need to sell them not just give them away so need to find a local dealer), one for charity shop and one for tip the latter two are going today. The attic is small because our bedroom is in the main attic good job because think how much stuff could be stored up there I already have secret storage up there behind a false wall where I store baby things for when we foster babies so that I have everything I need for all ages.

Today's plan is to move wardrobe from little twins' room into OS's room where it will be more useful and declutter both rooms. The ultimate plan is when my little girl leaves us :( to move ys into her room after redecorating it and renewing the flooring it is only small so won't cost much and already has a new bed in it. Then we shall redecorate the twins old room for yd and replace her bed which is ancient and put some flooring down in there and put in more useful low level storage so that they can both use that room as a playroom as it is a decent size.

There is more to the plans but that's enough for now I actually need to get on and do what needs to be done rather than just thinking about it.

I found some nice cream wool yesterday when clearing the attic and want to knit myself a v neck jumper it is silky dk haven't found a free pattern yet that is suitable so if anyone knows where to look suggestions welcome ty.

  • DT do you know what is happening with your foster daughter yet?

Your plan sounds like it will have an impact on the way you live and better still should not be too costly until you get onto the large renovation project.

Good luck with it all x

It has to be approved by the panel but subject to that she is due to leave us next month :(
