Pleased to see you're back DT. Hope you manage to sort the 'lodger' problem soon.

I was looking forward to hearing your weigh in details, hope you have a really good result next week.

The pots of gold and hampers looked super in the pictures.
  • Glad to see you back DT, sorry things aren't going too well with DD's OH, but it must be like treading on eggshells sometimes.

I won't do a Shaun santa thingy because I picked up some bits in home bargain the other week to put in crackers, some clip on pens, wind up key ring torches etc. so glad its not just me!

  • My remortgage offer came through today :j:j:j:j

I was so relieved and strangely the same people who valued our house at just under £300K when we wanted to sell it 18 months ago have valued it at £375K for the mortgage and they did a proper look round job not just a drive past.

It means I have gone backwards on my challenges due to fees etc. my credit cards are included in my new mortgage but it is an offset so I won't actually be paying them off until my current 0% deals end so it has made an accurate signature difficult so I have decided to declare my total debt at my lbm instead of just my credit cards so I have something to compare the present figure with as I won't be able to give an accurate CC figure separately from now on.

It will be difficult to give an accurate debt figure too as I will be keeping all my spare money when I get paid end Oct :j in the offset but some will be real offset some will be future expenditure residing in the offset temporarily so I will have to work a budget out and then deduct the budget from the offset to give a truer picture - it makes my head hurt thinking about it but the important thing is that any money sitting there will be saving me interest.:):)

Makes a change for me to make a post about money even though I have actually gone backwards I am hoping next year to make some inroads but don't intend to put as much pressure on myself debt wise and have some fun along the way.

Had a wedding invite for next year today had to choose what we wanted to eat nice to think that by then I will be able to eat proper food and even have a drink getting a bit tired on the diet front but people are starting to notice I have lost weight so that's good reckon I have about 3 months left to go but hopefully within the next 3 weeks I will be on phase 2 and can have some real food :T and then hopefully the phases will come thick and fast after that - had to get some clothes this weekend as when I got back from holiday nothing fitted so I have a very compact wardrobe of one pair of trousers, one skirt, three T shirts and one long tunic top wonder how long I can ring the changes before anyone notices :rotfl:thankfully my M&S vouchers were waiting for me so didn't cost much don't want to buy many clothes as they will be too big soon but it is nice to wear something the correct size instead of everything being so baggy - nice problem to have - I know I should ebay what I bought just a few months ago but I can't so the charity shop it will be :o

Good news on the mortgage front :j

As for putting the total debt in the sig - if it makes comparisons easier then I am all for it :D

  • Good news for you there DT- as for the clothes, why not get a member of family to ebay them for you? Someone will snap your hands off i am sure.

We are a non ebaying family I am afraid I think the salesman gene is missing at school fetes I always insist on going on a priced stall such as the tombola put me on anything else and I would rather give the stuff away than haggle over prices :o

I know it is a waste but I just can't face it :(

DT - if its the good stuff you bought a few months ago, you could ask the shop if they know of an outlet for nearly new rather than a charity shop.

I don't really ebay, but mainly because of the hassle. You may not be one for haggling over prices, but you are competitive in other ways :p

DT have you looked for someone locally who can do alterations? At least some of the pieces might be OK with fairly quick cheap fixes.

When I did my big weight loss, I bought things on the 'way down' as you need to feel good about how you look, it helps to motivate you to keep going, well it did for me :) I did count it as part of the 'diet' costs, as it's the whole package that makes it work.
