Hello Mandy. Like Flying Friesian, I've been thinking of you frequently throughout the day. I'm glad it hasn't been as bad as you thought - I think the more family, the better. And to be able to see her again, thats very precious - tearing up just thinking about that.
With love.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
You sound so brave, I'm sure you were a rock for your DD but please look after yourself too xx0

I hope the laterns finished off a beautiful tribute to Cherry Rose. I have always said I wouldn't want to see a family member after they have passed but hearing how peaceful she was and that your memory of your last visit with her is now a happier one I will certainly reconsider, x0

Morning sweetheart .... how did you sleep? I hope the lanterns made a fitting close to the day .... and as to seeing a family member, its certainly been important for me.
The grief goes on a long time, tho, and we'll be here for you all the way.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning KC I slept fairly well exhaustion setting in I think.
Seeing Cherry was really important I wasn't going to but I knew Laura wanted to put some things in the coffin - pictures from the children and a toy so I decided she needed my support and I was glad I did she looked so peaceful. I then encouraged other members of the family to see her and they were all glad they did. The lanterns were beautiful they went really high and looked like bright stars in the sky. Just been to the grave with my sisters this morning before they left for home and it is a lovely day here.
The big children and a couple of their friends have gone to Alton Towers for the day which I am sure will do them good so the house is very quiet the little one is playing happily and the other two have gone to school their teacher came to the funeral yesterday which I thought was lovely so I know she will keep a close eye on them they only have a few days left before the holidays. Abi goes into hospital on Monday to have her grommets inserted and possibly her adenoids removed I am really pleased that it is going to happen at last because she has really been suffering with her hearing.
Dreading looking at the bank account and credit card bill I know it is not going to be good but I really don't care (sorry Martin) at the moment and I intend to treat ourselves as a family over the summer so debt busting will have to wait until at least next payday which is the end of October and then I will only probably be playing catch up but the debts will be there when I am ready I need to build some happy times and memories over the next few months.
Weightloss not surprisingly is going well and I am going for a weigh in on Friday so will update my signature then. I really need to try and get back to a proper eating pattern by then if I can.

Mandy, the debt busting can most definately take a backseat.
When my grandad was buried a picture of DS was tucked in the band of his Salvation Army cap and placed on top of the coffin before it was covered as we couldnt make it to Wiltshire in time for it to be put inside the coffin, but at least he has it.
Hope all goes well at the hospital for Abi. x0 -

The service was lovely so many people were there to support us and it really did help. It rained this morning but was dry for the service and everything went beautifully and so many people commented on the rose petals it did make such a difference. We are now waiting for it to get dark so we can send off our lanterns to end what has been a truly special day.
Love to all my MSE family

Am so pleased that the funeral went as well as possible and that you did see her loooking so peaceful. The chinese lanterns must've looked so pretty in the dark and the rose petals must have smelt so sweet and the felt so soft.
Sod the debt...the debt will be there later on when you're ready.
Definitely agree some good times definitely needed by all....take care xxx0 -
OK good news and bad news
The good news is that I went to the clinic today and I have lost 11lbs :j not surprising really as I didn't eat for several days but am at last back on track with what i should be eating on the diet and I didn't eat anything that I should'nt so pleased with myself. Over a third of the way there.
The bad news is that our mortgage is coming up for remortgage next month and I thought I had found the perfect new one first direct offset tracker with a £99 fee and £99 valuation and would be for the rest of the term no need to remortgage agan was going to try and include the credit cards keep the money in the offset until the 0% deals ended so we would still not pay interest on them and pay each one off in turn and also make ovepayments to the mortgage so that they would be cleared in less than 2 years 2.49% interest rate and no hassle to get new balance transfers and 3% fees to pay on each transfer. Too good to be true yes mortgage has to be paid off by age 65 OH is 62 we want it cleared by the time he is 70 but cant do it in less than 3 years gutted especially as income will be the same whatever age he is  So cunning plan number two was to go to HSBC who have no upper age limit (first direct is their subsidiary but have different rules) and we have banked with them for 25 years but they don't do an offset mortgage they suggested first direct
So now it will have to be the mortgage advisor and I bet he cant find a deal to match first direct - fed up

Oh that is pants about the mortgage. Is there no way round it, ie by you being paid instead of OH? You have more than 3 years before you are 65 so could take on the mortgage yourself?
Well done on the weight loss - you have done really well to not say sod it and just pig out, which is what I tend to do in these situations.
