  • Love the idea of using the pots of gold scratchies instead of crackers. May change my pots of gold instead of giving them as presents, may give them all to my sister to put on the table at Christmas. That is of course if it doesn't interfere with her colour scheme!

PS. usually lurk around your diary because the numbers are soooo big. Well done on what you've done up to now.

I'm thinking of doing a money challenge next year, especially if I get a job.

DT, after Gilligansyle's comment about your totals, I had a serious look at your sig - WOW! is all I can say - £30k in a year and a half! Thats amazing! Well done you!

Thankfully my colour scheme includes gold so no problem there.

Glad you have unlurked Gilligansyle I enjoyed reading your diary yesterday but it did cause me to stay up to 1am  looking at the craft threads have now decided to make OD a nappy cake for when she has her baby shower that she is talking about :D

The numbers are big because they have to be we have so much to pay off when you include the mortgage and we are not getting any younger wish we had our LBM a long time ago.:o

£30K this year is going to be a challenge as it has taken 18months to pay that much off so far but barring any car problems I am hoping it is doable the problem is we have to keep it at that level every year if we are going to be debt free and of course we have made most of the major changes - getting all the cards on 0% was a big one and taking the children out of private education - although that one is likely to rear its ugly head in 7 years time as I am not happy with the secondary schools round here - so it is either move or pay the debt off so spare money can go to their education but either way we need to keep hammering that debt.

It is bitterly cold here. Snow on the mountains - hypno should come for some practice before her hols :D

    Have a good day folks.

We had the same schools dilemma......and ended up moving so as to get into the secondary school that we wanted because we could no longer afford private. I have to say that I never regretted the decision.....the high school here is really very good, and both my children are doing very well there, so it was a call well made.

As for the snow.......I'll pack the car and be with you by dinner time.....that ok?

Great going on the debt-busting DT :T - I don't know how you manage it, as your life it so busy. You are an inspiration! :A

We are lucky with schools as the local one is a Church school and the best in the area.
The high schools are a different story though and I'm already thinking about the Grammar school, which is purely academically focused, with no room for other activities, but might suit DD1....DD2 will probably go to a remand home

If you could see her - you would realise that is no joke. She has naturally curly hair and everyone thinks she's soooo cute - but she is the Devil in disguise!
Didn't sleep through the night ONCE(I am not exaggerating) in THREE years!!!! It was awful. She is very loving but very hard work....

    :rotfl:This did make me smile!

DT, I'm sure you'll do well with the challenge next year, you always seem so organised (esp with the strange way you get paid!) and like Hypno, always on the go doing something! Good luck!

my DD never slept either - I ended up taking the door handle off her bedroom door and putting it up high out of reach so she couldn't escape.

It was a very stressful time - and for anyone else, she was an angel and they all thought I was making the whole thing up
