The Double Debt Attack by Double Trouble

I can understand you being busy especially at this time of year, with everything you've got on your plate! Doing a few MS together is always a big help with the hourly rate - having just submitted them to the accountant, tho, I found it really helped when I'd made notes about which ones I'd done together, so I didn't go searching for travel receipts that never existed
Keep going, DT!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
This is a copy of my post on Hypno's thread
Ok it had to be done here as my first post was on Hypno's diary
This is my 2000th post :j:j
What a difference just over 12 months makes and it would not have been possible without you lovely MSE folks :A
I have just declared my total paid off over the last 12 months in the Christmas 09 thread and am now ready to start afresh and with the
MFiT-T2 starting in 2 weeks it is a time of new challenges and new beginnings which is very exciting.
Thank you again I feel quite emotional
DTxx
For future reference
I paid £21,459.21 off in the Christmas 09 challenge:beer:
My CC debt today is £38842.41:rolleyes:
Total debt as at today £260352.57:rolleyes:
So I am getting there but it is definitely going to be the long haul for me.
Taken my Mom out today for lunch (but she paid) got her a huge bin liner full of books for £3 so she is very happy.:j
Tried to get my scratchcards so that I could wrap some more pots of gold in readiness for next weekend but the two shops I tried did not have the pots of gold scratchcards so I will have to go elsewhere tomorrow:mad:

:T:T:T:T:T Well done once again DT - that's an amazing amount you've paid off there :T:T:T:T:T
Can I ask what are the Pots of Gold? Do you mean the scratchcards you buy? What are you doing with them? (Sorry I sound like a 3 year old with all the questions!)0 -
I'm having scratchcards instead of crackers at the Christmas dinner table - I hate the paper hats and the crappy gifts, so everyone can have a chance to win loads of money insteadSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

I am using the pot of gold scratchcards in my pots of gold small kilner jars with gold coins and gold sweets in them and for teenagers instead of vouchers I am alsoputting £2 coins in as below
and wrapped (OH's camera always comes out orange)
It isn't my idea if you search pot of gold there is a thread on here about them.I'm having scratchcards instead of crackers at the Christmas dinner table - I hate the paper hats and the crappy gifts, so everyone can have a chance to win loads of money instead
I am using a variation on the pots of gold - small gold bowls I have got so that we too will be having scratchcards instead of crackers - so I hope we will be lucky too
I think the people in the shops thought I was mad because I wanted specific scratchcards:rotfl::rotfl:

Oh I LOVE that DT - what a fab idea!
Sadly I've done most of my shopping now, but that will definitely something I will do next year (when I'm debt free
And I like the scratchcards instead of crackers idea Hypno, but don't think they'd go done too well with the kids :rolleyes:0 -

I shall put gold hats and gold blowers and gold bubble jars in the kids as mine are too young for scratchcards so they won't think they are missing out on crackers

I might do one for DH - I just need to hunt down some £2 coins - though choccie ones might have to do!0

Love the idea of using the pots of gold scratchies instead of crackers. May change my pots of gold instead of giving them as presents, may give them all to my sister to put on the table at Christmas. That is of course if it doesn't interfere with her colour scheme!
PS. usually lurk around your diary because the numbers are soooo big. Well done on what you've done up to now.
I'm thinking of doing a money challenge next year, especially if I get a job.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
