    Well done to the royalmail.

Any other news DT for us?

Tired, bit down, pain in my knee which has now moved into my calf, still some shopping to do but getting there - otherwise I am OK not sleeping too well so I think tiredness is the main problem.

Nothing happening much on the debt front - didn't go mad in Cardiff -very pleased OS is home but OD's partner is driving me mad if he was any more laid back he would be horizontal and actually he often is just not making an effort - but if I make too much fuss he will leave and probably OD with him and I have already lost touch with two step grandchildren can't go through that again so I don't know what todo - I just can't get inside his head but it is making life very difficult

Sorry just feeling a bit sorry formyself.

MMM that's a hard one!!!...does your daughter seem happy with him?..if it's not causing her stress you may have to let it go.
Hope you can get over your tiredness and pain as that must be contributing a lot to the feeling of being down.

Can you give him a choice of 2 jobs to do a day then it doesn't seem like reminding (nagging). Explain you are in pain and having trouble doing x,y or z. HTH

Emmmmmmmmmm he has to get up first no sign as yet today

Unlikely to see him before meal time

Trying not to say too much at the moment because OS just got home from uni and I have already found myself discussing it with him which is not fair and I understand he is getting it from them too - why can't they talk to me that would be an improvement when I try to talk about it both of them just clam up and put their heads down - I am so frustrated - or else nod agreement and then don't bother to do anything anyway - like talking to a brick wall.

I am waking in the night and whereas before I would immediately think about debt busting now it is this I am thinking about at least with debt busting I could do something.

Taxi my daughter is not stressed at all it doesn't enter her vocab at all but I am mega stressed and it is affecting me badly

I'm sorry to hear that it's so bad!!!!....I know how hard it must be but while you can talk reasonably to them now..I'd be doing that as it's making you really stressed which is no good for anybody. If you leave it much longer you may just explode and say things that you may regret and that cannot be fixed.
If you can work out exactly what you want from them and how it can be acieved then you may be able to save the situation.
Obviously you all want to solve things as your DS is in the middle and both sides have been talking to him..and as you say that is unfair. You need to let them know you are at the end of your tether with them.
Can't see them going anywhere else as it looks like neither of them work so won't have money for deposits.
  • OK latest bombshell in the DT household OD's partner revealed to social worker today that he has no intention of going to uni next year when I asked my daughter about it she said it wasn't fair that he should miss being with her and the child and that they are all going off to uni in 2011. I said it was unfair to expect us to continue to support him for another 18 months and that we didn't ask for this situation and that it is time he started to take responsibility - still no job doesn't seem to be looking any more - still not signed on - am I being unreasonable? I just can't believe what a mess it all is.

I don't want to make a big fuss and cause an atmosphere whilst OS is home from Uni but I just do not know what to do - sleeping or playing computer games all day seems to be his aim in life - I feel sorry for my grandchild he/she is going to have a hard time if they have their way dragged off to be in a creche whilst they go to Uni and living in goodness knows what conditions in Dundee with no family support.

    hi DT

this looks very messy and in the sort term ,,ie next 2 years ,your going to be in a no win situation,
you cant afford to pay for their keep at home,,,and will worry if their up in Scotland with no idea what's going on,,
kids being kids,,,they always make half hearted plans with no real thought as to how they will actually carry them out,,
may be you could research the costs involved,,,rent ,cresh fess, transport eth add in the normal, food, cloths,,,cost of a baby, uni fees, see whats grants they will get,sit down with them and ask them how are they going to
    a] fund it
b] cope with a new baby,,,with no support,,,,ill give them those horror stories
c] how will they study,,around the baby's routine,,,
d] do they realise how time comsuming and draining looking after a baby is??

lots of hugs to you at this difficult time..
if you need to talk,,,skype me
