Or maybe the thief was more like this...0 -
I asked my Sister today more about it, and she told me that it was in fact her HUSBAND's work colleague it happened to, and he knows her by name. He was told the story by her, and in fact it was NOT my Sister's friend. Sorry if the information in my 1st post was misleading, but i'm afraid theres not alot I can do about it.
Obviously you are all entitled to your own opinion, so if you think it is a load of b/c, I am not stopping you from thinking that. I am just presenting to you what I have heard in the hope that it has perhaps made a number of you more alert and aware of these sorts of things that are apparently going on.
Now, for some FAQ's
Why did she leave her bag outside the cubicle? I can only assume it was too large to take in with her or she seized the first possible opportunity to hang the bag(s) up after a long day of shopping
Why are you calling her 'Jude'? For ease of typing. I am not saying this is her name, or it even sounds remotely like her name, I just thought it would save time as opposed to typing 'my Sister's friend' every time. Again, Sorry if this causes any offence
Why are you still believing it even after seeing a certain website? Because a close relation told it to me, and I believe what she says
Why bother putting it on MSE? See last 2 lines of 2nd paragraph of this post
Youre a guy, why do you care? After being involved in the 'industry' for a length of time, I know how important it is to warn potential victims of crimes before they are committed, thus reducing the risk to any potential victim. This thread was put on here in the hope it might raise awareness of the potential risk
I hope the above has answered some of your queries/questions. Feel free to discuss on this thread but please don't leave any negative personal replies.

I think it is now debunked.(i have cut out the persons email and phone number)
We thank you for your email.
Although this story sounds plausible, I can confirm there are no hooks on the outside of the womens toilet cubicle door, in our Bluewater store.
We trust this information will be of use to you. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate in contacting us on the telephone number below.

Thanks for taking the time to email JL, but I have not been made aware that it was the JL toilets used by the person, and I am sure there are more than one set of toilets in such a large and famous shopping centre. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

no i asked them if as per your post they were aware of members of staff trying to help a woman who had lost her handbag who they had not called.
they didnt actually confirm this, and i would have thougt if they had done this, they would have said, yes, be careful, its a scam.
it was a debunk0 -

Just look at these four stories, one of which dates from last December. Do still think that it's not an urban myth?
