I've had the exact same thing at Morrisons in Pontefract tonight!!! Conversation as follows:
Cashier - Sorry we can't accept coupons printed off the internet
Me - Why not? The expiry date is still in date
C - Because anyone can print them off and claim free goods
Me - Isn't that the point? The Manufacturer sends them out for advertising purposes, resulting in more people buying their products.
C - But then 100s of people could come in claiming free jars of coffee
Me - Yeah, so!!
Surely manufacturers won't be happy that their coupons are being accepted.
Are these just two one-off cases or has anyone else experienced it too??Now debt free!! Yey.
Sealed pot challenge in full swing.0 -
printing coupons and using them when not buying the product should be treated like shop lifting.0

I know we are not supposed to chat on here but can someone please put me out of my misery and answer why codes work for some people but not others? Set up new account under husbands name and NOTHING works on it?Ta0

I went in to WHSmith with their vouchers and got nervous about having a confrontation at the till after spending an hour choosing books and things (minimum spend was £25) so decided against it and left it all without even trying!!
That is what happens to me after I get a knock-back from Tesco's! Silly I know - but I would rather know who accepted what voucher now.:(0 -
Can't get a single discount code to work for me :undecided
Found out though if they substitute an item for one which is on offer and you get the right quantities, not only do you get price matched but the discount come off as well. Example:
Ordered 2 x Maltesers @ £1 a box
Received 2 x Maltesers Bags @ £1.69 a bag - price matched to £1 (also on offer @ 2 for £3)
Later in the receipt 2 x Maltesers bags -£0.38p
So I got price matched & £0.38 off0 -
why are there never any codes for Tesco Direct!!!! been trying a few but never seem to get any to work!!!0

I said yes, and they said they have a policy that they don't accept any vouchers printed off the Internet..
..anyone else had this problem? Where will accept them?
(Actually, I downloaded the picture, so I could run off several copies, but I only got around to using one.)0 -
I'm ordering a load of Wii games, are there ever any codes for such things? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Pretty sure the Tesco direct codes would work on games, there's a thread somewhere with those on http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=27025661
However, i've been looking for Wii games lately and doing loads of price comparisons on quite a few games and Play.com is almost always quite a lot cheaper!0 -
I have just phoned Tesco to rant that once again not one code would work on my order and I'm maybe taking my loyalty elsewhere. This is not the first time not one would work, putting in all card details for it then to be rejected because of the 'invalid code'!
I have been promised I will get £10, the code she could see I had just tried to put on, refunded to my card. Just got to phone them when my order is delivered, she says she made a note on my file on the system.
She says it's not them sending fake codes or recalling them or anything. Claims it's dodgy software on the website. They really should fix it then!0
