I have followed all the tips Martin gives (electoral roll, cancelling unused credit acc's). I have tried to limit the moves where possible but the issue comes from:

Finish Uni ---> Move bk to Parents---> Get Grad Job away from home ----> Hate 1st place (didnt know the area and chose a naf house share). Haven't moved now for 6mths (which is good for me at the moment). Unfortunately my job will move around the country for promotions etc, at least for the next 5yrs. So my credit rating will not be great for a while!

The other thing is my Grad Acc is with RBS, but it will be down to -1500 by the end of this month (from -2000). So i may postpone posting it for a week, so it will be on my credit report by the time they get round to rechecking. RBS tend to update quickly at the end of the month for me.
    Credit Card 6.9% - £0/£2800
Graduate OD 19.9% - [STRIKE]£1000[/STRIKE] Paid off Sept 11

I appealed and was asked for 3 months of bank statements and 2 utility bills. Then I was asked for proof of all my income (I thought they could look at the bank statements but obviously not ) and then they asked for a copy of my credit report.

I gave up in the end.

Lol, I know what you mean mate, i'm now dealing with Donald Caesar (fraud & verification dept) - he is a plank! I sent him a letter from Lee Hancock (Experian) proving i'm nowt to do with the linked person and guess what he said in his letter to me? Experian said you lived there! DOH! The letter I just sent you says otherwise - muppets!

Just remembered reading that if you cancel an RBS credit card, they wont accept you for another one for 9months.

Guess what.... cancelled my RBS Student Card a month ago.

    Stupid me.

Yes, some lenders will not consider applications from former cardholders for various periods following closure.

The Royal Bank of Scotland stable (which includes Lombard Direct, Mint, NatWest,Tesco & Ulster Bank, as well as RBS itself) makes former customers wait 8 months following closure of one of its cards, so cancelling any of these cards in the past 9 months or so would explain why your Tesco application was unsuccessful,

At least by then most of my searches will have dropped off my credit report! So it will squeeky clean, and fingers crossed i will still be living where i am now! :D.

Lee Hancock, I recognise that name, sounds like you have had something passed to the directors office at Experian like me then! ;)

Mate it is - the transition hasn't completed and RBS are still involved with the processes and Tesco are using RBS systems. I've been arguing this for a while as people seem to think that Tesco are on their own - they aren't!

Yes mate, cos i've had problems with my file and wrong details etc.... he must have a huge workload cos he deals with loads of different complaints..... anyone would think its a small business with him being the owner lol

To be fair, after slagging the guy off for the last year, i've got to give him credit for sorting my file out.....

I've only spoken to him in passing, one of his colleagues, Emma was dealing with my case.

My credit file was screwed, partially thanks to Egg  creating about 5 different versions of the same address, spelling my name wrong etc.

It took just short of a year to sort out. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't just Egg, Experian contributed to the matter and the first line customer service and email customer service was awful, nobody would reply or anything. In the end I wrote to the Directors Office.

Now its all sorted....and I have a 1 year free membership to Credit Expert :D
