With Millwall Gillingham and Burnley milling about our town this weekend, I think I will spend it mostly indoors. :P

Whats wrong with the Burnley fans?

Have no idea about the Gillingham fans but I can 100% vouch for the Burnley fans. I have eleven members of my (extended) family going to Wembley on Monday. They range in age from 7 to 64. Burnley is a family club and everyone is going for a day to remember.

Afternoon all hope this finds all well. Many thanks for the advice re the Manchester tart. Very popular with the management:rotfl:
Mrs cat is well and enjoying my efforts to improve my baking and general cooking skills. I am trying more difficult things as i know when I mess up I have a whole team of experts to call upon:D Furthermore, they (yes you) are total :A:A:A
We are both off for a few days which will be great as often our free spells don't coincide. Mrs c is off away from home for a short time in late June and is looking forward to the challenge.

We are having a light tea as we were awake quite early and had coffee and a pastry, then went back to sleep and had a very nice brunch at 1pm:o:eek::eek:. So a salad, cheese and olives will do us(and a nice bottle of wine)
Tomorrow we are having duck which I am looking forward to. We had planned to drive over to see my sister in law (Mrs c's older sister)and her family before their trip to London but they have booked a hotel for tomorrow night and are making a bit of a mini break out of it.

I had better go as despite it being a snack type meal I seem to take even longer to sort out than a full cooked job!In the time it has taken me to do this the boss has been to get some petrol, fed the cats and washed the brunch things up:o Time to go methinks:o:o
    Have a good evening.

Talking of Burnley, there was a silent auction at work this week, to win tickets to watch the match in the VIP box, with champagne and nibbles for the afternoon, meeting the team and getting a signed shirt, I am sure some of you on here would have loved it :T

WMF, I love dogs too :D

Sistercas, your garden sounds like its coming on a treat :T, have just had another hour in mine.

ravylesley it certainly was not for my ironing

Going to have a glass in a mo , have fun x

Whilst I agree that Millwall supporters have a bad reputation, it would be incredibly rare for there to be any hassle with the Burnley fans .I live in Burnley and in fact I live right next to the stadium and there is never any hassle and when Burnley come to town all 36,000 of us we will be there for a good time not hassle so please remember we are there for a good time and for us Wembley is the dream and we all want to do is just dream the dream for a little while and the premiership is our ultimate dream.Come win or lose we will have a good time and if your views are indicative of the locals of the stadium we will be having a good time between ourselves. So instead of looking on Burnley coming to town as a bad thing put on your glad rags and visit the local pubs and party with us cos boy will it be a party should we win:rotfl:

    Evening

Well it has stayed fine today and when the sun came through it was actually very warm but kept clouding over. We have spent most of the afternoon in the garden and it is looking lovely and tidy. Had tea in the garden sitting on the swing - it was so lovely to be able to be out, seems ages since we had a day without rain at some point.:T:T:T

Tea was cold gammon and chicken with rice and pasta salad. It was lovely. Now watching some very strange people on BGT, whoever tells some of them to apply!!!!!! So funny though:D

House and garden are completely cleaned and tidy now so can enjoy the rest of the long weekend.:j:j:j

Hope you all have a lovely weekend - time to open the wine! ;)

Today we've been shopping to tesco and iceland and I've had a quick clean through also doen 3 loads of washing - ironing planned tomorrow afternoon.
Dh is watering the veggie garden.

:T:T:T:T:TAgree 100% with you. I have just been on the phone to a very excited 7 year old(and a 13, 44 & 42 years old!!) all over the moon and looking forward to a day to remember.
I am not a Burnley supporter but have been to a few Burnley matches and the atmosphere is great. A real family club and very OS to boot!:D
Lesley, have a wonderful time and a safe trip.

Tea was very nice although for two people that were not very hungry we put a fair bit away:o. Had the salad, two types of olives, some cheese(don't ask how much:o) a small French stick, coleslaw, and pepper and tomato salad. (With the wine).
We then had went into the garden with our coffee and a large slice of Lemon tart and watched the bats as dusk fell. We also listened to our resident hedgehog snuffling around although we never get to see him/her.

Spoke to DSIL and co and shortly up to bed. It seems the more sleep I get the more I need:confused::confused:
So will bid you all a good night. Hope you all have a good nights sleep.

Out early this morning as we had DGS1's First Communion....60 children all looking lovely. Lunch out, but home in plenty of time to see Leinster win the rugby...looked a bit dicey for a while but came out all right in the end.

Lazy Chinese takeaway for dinner, and an early night for those who had been drinking early in the day..I'm just having a glass now, but will be off to bed soon as we are having a brunch barbecue to-morrow...nothing fancy but will have to scrub table and make a couple of salads in the morning....DDIL2 is bringing pudding.

Hoping to get back to OS from Monday, not often all family are here together so it is always nice for us all to eat together.

Hugs to all in need or want, enjoy the rest of the weekend

    Marie
