We went there last year and the one before that. Kids loved it there, last year I couldn't get them to go out of the park, as they wanted to go swimming and play football every day.
The only thing that put me off last year was, there were loads of money spiders in the caravan, apparently a problem due to the weather. I wouldn't go in the caravan for about an hour when I first got there lol.0 -
Haven Caister - nasty nasty place.
Filthy, chavvy and just simply simply nasty.
We stayed in one of their "chalets" - it was like we'd been imprisoned in some sort of nightmare council accomodation for 4 days.
And the clubhouse place was dreadful - stinking of stale beer and full to the brim of really odd looking people drinking pints and waiting for the terrible "entertainment".
Do people really do that for their holiday?
Absolutely filthy too - they don't clean the accomodations properly - my full Dyson was testiment to that!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

We went to Thorpe park is April 3rd and it was dreadful, we upgraded the caravan to a luxury OMG it was disgusting it smelt of sick as soon as you walked in, the fire didn't work maintenace couldn't fix it we was told to use the cooker rings they melted the for show extractor, Saturday we all settled down to watch the Grand national and the whole site had a power cut a minute before it started. This power cut lasted all night so there was no facilities, the next day (our last day) there was no facilities because they had to safety check everything from the power cut. We complained why we was on site, they took our details and was going to give us a call. Six weeks later we had no call from them so I called them back to ask what was going on, We are entitled to no compensation because it was the suppliers fault. There was not even an apology just a sob story that 3000 people was affected including the owners and that its not their fault.0

Do you usually take your Dyson with you on holiday?
Not if we're flying lol.
But anywhere we take the car, then yes, the Dyson gets packed in the roofbox!
It all started when we stayed in the awful Park Resorts park in Shanklin in the Isle of Wight. An absolute shabby, tatty, filthy, nasty place. We we got there - I just cried. After that - the Dyson comes everywhere.
I don't stay in UK parks really anymore, apart from Caister which was a one off last year. It's only the UK ones that seem so disgusting - I think it's because the English seem more willing to put up with crappy low standards - stiff upper lip and all that."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

When my children were younger we holidayed at Haven with our own tent or caravan 2 -3 times a year and we had a great time. We generally went to the Isle of Wight and stayed at Nodes Point but also at Lower Hyde.
More recently we have been on Sun Hols at both Haven and Park Resort. For £40 it is fine as a base and my DD3 loves the evening entertainment. So we find it fine for us. We do find the staff worse than useless and the accommodation poor but for £40 it is ok. I feel sorry for folk paying full price. Some of the teens are a pain, but live and let live.

We went there a few years ago and it was fine, one of the quieter ones and at the time I think that they had a dry ski slope that you could use.
Have a great time.

We have been on the Sun deals and as they are so cheap dont tend to expect too much,we dont pay for linen or entertainment passes as its only a place to sleep. We take the dog so never get the option to upgrade accomodation.
We last went to Porthmadog in Wales which was lovely, right on the beach and right by Snowdonia national park with some lovely walks. the caravan was lovely and linen was also thrown in free.
Been to Haggerston castle too, caravan was a bit dirty but someone came to clean it straight away. Cant comment on entertainment as we never use it but they are great for what we need. Porthmadog has definately been my favourite so far!0
