I’m in the “crap” camp having run Quattros for the last 20 years and found the transmissions to be pretty much bullet proof.

Diffs are designed to run with different speeds across them and I’d no more expect trouble running old & new tyres front & back than I would on a two wheel drive car with new & old tyres across the driven axle.

There are limits on how far you can tow them with one axle suspended but that’s an extreme case with one set of wheels rotating normally and the other set stationary

"Quattro" is just a brand name these days, the 4WD in the Audi TT has almost nothing in common with that used in the original Audi Quattro

fix it and sell it, then negotiate 3k off for a cash sale for a new car... then you get the best of both worlds...

car dealers are desperate to sell

if you have a problem just show them the price you can buy from a main dealer off a website. simple

Now own a new Jap car...

world of difference, love the jap car, loved the VAG too but it went back under warranty 3 times in first 6 months and had the most annoying rattle that they wouldn't do anything about.

Jap cars have a feeling of space VAG cars need to dream about now, yet they are physically bigger.
