I know some people will not like me for this, but I will say it anyway...

If the producer of a product runs a promotion then ALL supermarkets should take any coupons, included printed, for money off that product.

But if people don't buy the product but use the voucher and the producer of the product has to pay for it? Well, then if I was the producer I think that would bankrupt me quite quickly.. With the amount of people that I would have to pay for and absolutely no revenue from my products...

I love coupons, but I am not sure I would even try to claim the money off different product then I have coupon for... I just don't have the nerve for it.

From what I have read on this board, there are people who buy almost all of their supermarket shopping with coupons from newspapers, magazines and printed off the net. Eventually this level of abuse is going to mean the system is tightened up.

Well we have to do it while we can. Some of us have no choice but to use coupons for our grocery shopping, and while coupons can be used for other than the stated product, we can continue to use them.

I do not think that certain people should make comments about others using coupons as they do not know their induvidual circumstances. I have taken £12 of coupons through before for a £30 shop, no questions asked in Tesco, just goes to show it depends on the SA

    How though?
Why won't Tesco take them - what's the excuse for it?
Another reason to stop going there..........

they dont need a reason, theyre a business so thay can do what they want when and how they see fit

Maybe the OP refused the OP's coupon as it was a printed 1 and wasnt sure if she was allowed to accept it

Does anyone know if the coupons work on those self-checkout machines?

Yes you can. In tesco and asda, not sure about sainsburys.
You can't use them in Morrisons on the self service tho.

It is a lot easier, as you just scan the coupon and pop it into a slot on the till

The people that get internet coupons refused, have you tried them in the self scan tills (if your store has them?) chances are these will still accept them, unless you have a complete Nazi working on the self scan checkouts (and some stores do) you should get away with using them there. (from personal experience ;) )
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I am not having a pop at you, I was stating the facts. From the point of view of the business there is a big difference between using 90% cash and 10% coupons and using 90% coupons and 10% cash. It is an abuse of the system and, like many other MSE loopholes, it will eventually be closed up.

Hmmm... I find your moral highground a bit confusing, given one of your previous posts:

My local Tesco (Bradford) took one of the £5 Morissons vouchers yesterday, tho neither the guy on the till nor the supervisor knew what I was on about. And now they have accepted one, I will be back with the others!!
