    OP this will just be in your store, and probably not all cashiers will worry about it. Choose a different cashier next time and avoid the person who refused you. Some stores have stopped accepting internet prints due to not getting the money back on too many of these, maybe your store has done this or maybe that cashier and Supervisor just made it up. They certainly made up the bit about 'all Tesco stores'!

    Tesco have not changed their coupon policy nationally, it is still as shown on the printable coupons sticky thread. Unfortunately for us, as has been said before, there is some Store manager discretion (namely on accepting internet prints).
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    I thought I'd read on MSE that it was Tesco's national policy to accept all coupons, whether people bought the product or not? :confused:

    You can argue whether it's right or wrong, but I thought that was their written policy and each store had a copy you could point them to if individual till operators argued about it?

    Well my Tesco, in Wisbech DOES take internet coupons, regardless if you've bought the product or not. ;)

  • My local store at Newmarket has not taken internet coupons for at least a year so I have to go to Ely.

    Not sure whether Ely have changed their policy from accepting to not accepting internet printed coupons as the last 2 times I tried to use an internet printed voucher (same one used loads of times before there) the till would not accept it. It may just be that particular coupon has had a stop put on it. None of the staff knew why it would not be accepted and they could see it was internet printed. Shame really as it saves loads of money.
  • Lots of people I know have got a real 'downer' on Tesco's as it is. The only reason I ever go there is to use a few coupons and because their potato wedges are cheap (69p) and nice. If they don't take coupons I will stick to Sainsburys.

    Recessions bring out the worst in stores and if they take it too far and become facist, people will shop elsewhere and not return. It is not like they aren't making a proft and can't claim the money back from the companies.

    Still accepting all coupons in my local. Morrisons are starting to turn down coupons. Had a right scenario with a SA on Saturday when she refused to take an internet coupon because 'there was nothing written on the back'! :mad: !!!!!!.... I was buying the exact product too. What is the world coming to? lol

    At least I managed to use some in Tesco no problem! :rotfl:

    The rules have deffo changed at my local Tesco. They used to let me use both normal and internet vouchers even if I had not purchased the product. They don't let me do this anymore. If I use a Self Service till, it goes bleep when the voucher has been put in the cash desk thing and then an assistant normally comes over and explains that if I have not purchased the item, I cannot use it, so don't bother going to Tesco anymore. *** Sorry to hear about the OP's problem. And further to CABBAGE's post, if the OP is renting her property, you will be able to claim Housing Benefit and what not (if you are not claiming it already), so hopefully this might help with your money woes. Good luck.

    I have 5 Tescos within walking distance. None of them have ever taken coupons aside from the main one that comes with your statement. THe little ones, like save 10p when you buy fruit, that you also get in the statement they will not accept these either.

    At first I contacted tesco about this, and was confirmed that they hould, but at the managers discression, and even with confirmation still not accepted. lol.

    Whenever I shop there, I generally do it online works out even cheaper with the net codes. :p

    This cannot be the case. If you meet the criteria (and you have to) then the conditional spend ones will work if in date.

    Email from customer services;

    We're happy to accept a non-Tesco product coupon even if you don't buy the item. But, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the product. If you present more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products. This also includes coupons printed from the Internet, but these will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager
