If I run my Classic account well in the next 12mths is there a possibility Capital One will put me on a lower interest card, like their 15.9% one? Or would I have to close it then reapply?
Has anyone got a 0% card 12mths after rebuilding credit file after late payment markers?

I tried but they wouldnt budge on either different card or reducing the rate of the classic one. Had run the account excellent over 2 years and worked my way up to the maximum credit limit, never missed a payment etc.. Just closed it and opened a new one elsewhere in the end.0

OK thanks for that. Didn't think they would, but thought I'd ask if anyone had any personal experience0 -
I started off with a sub prime Cap 1 card about 9 years ago, I was terrible with it, always maxing it out and going overlimit, then 4 years later they upgraded me to a Gold card without me asking and then another 2 years down the line upgraded me to a Platinum card.
My OH has had his Cap 1 subprime card now for 18 months I think and his interest rate was in the high 30's, after the first year it was reduced to the 25's.0 -

Neither did I lol. They have stopped them now, I only found that out when my Gold card expired and upon renewal, they reverted my card design back to the ordinary normal one. When I enquired as to why, they said they were no longer issuing Gold cards.0 -
I had cap1 card in 2002 with £200.00 limit, After 2 yrs I phoned them and they upped the limit to £500.00 After a further 6 mths I got a letter which I had to send back to them and attach a red "yes" sticker and this gave me £1,100.00 limit on their premier account.
In 2007 I started a DMP and in 2008 I quit the DMP and asked Cap1 to reinstate my account. The only way to do it was to pay £250.00 quid upfront.
I then got a new card and 4mths later they upped my limit to £1,700.00 as they upped my limit on my 4th statment.
Hope this helps.0 -

My hubby started with them in 2002 and they offered him the Classic Card at around 34% apr, they have now reduced his limit to under 20% apr.
So it's getting more of a normal apr rate at least!0
