For crying out loud don't pay them any more money! If they call you - tell them that the contact was terminated 6 months ago and that you'll be taking them to court for the money that they have unlawfully taken from you.

But I have no proof that I sent that letter and I'm sure they wouldn't admit that they received it either?

I was tempted to cancel it because I don't live with my parents anymore so could just ignore their letters (account is registered at that address) but would like to do it the proper way...

And send them the letter.
