    Anyone seen Sunnyday?

I`m here  , thanks for asking HockeyDuo.

It must be around a fortnight or maybe longer since i managed to post on here, i did manage a couple of posts elsewhere but the pc at w*rk was playing up and we had the internet blocked for a while.
I managed to read bits and bobs some days but i`ve been at w*rk mostly. On the days that i couldn`t read i began to get withdrawal symptoms :D

Happy Birthday / Anniversary to those that i`ve missed - sorry guys, hope you`ve all had wonderful days.

This morning i was in the greenhouse for 6am then out with the houndies, then i went to Asda to get some of the offers, 2x3kg of pasta was £3 amongst other things and i now have nowhere to put it all :o i made a trip to the pet shop for dog food after dropping the shopping off at home and then to the local market for some odds and ends. I promised that i would pick some bits and pieces up for a workmate so i went to the shopping centre too. I am now having a well earned cuppa :D

My washing got rained on whilst i was out but it seems a lot brighter now so out it shall stay. Both houndies have had their beds covered up with old doggie towels and they have a huge marrowbone between them that the butcher split in half for me, the plan was to give it to them outside but as it`s so wet i improvised, the towels can be used as rags when they`ve been through the wash.

Some may remember a while ago about our little old houndie being ill, well we had a rethink about his treatment after speaking to various people and the consultant as a result he spent a full day at the cardiologist and has had complete blood works done and and a heart scan and a stomach scan. He has 2 leaking heart valves, thickening of the heart wall, high blood pressure and thyroid problems amongst a long list of other things :(
The good news is that he has had all his medication changed and now that it is in his system he is quite a lot happier and is able to walk around better. :D The people who work with the specialist were fantastic, he was allowed home in between the scans for a nap and he was loved to bits and pampered, his nervousness wore off after a while and he realised that each time something had been done he could have a treat and DH was allowed to stay with him through all of it. One of the things that we wanted was no sedation but he was so well behaved that i think everyone was surprised. I did some research about the consultant beforehand and was encouraged by everything i learnt so we decided to go ahead and we`ve been very pleased - such lovely people.
Little oldie was uninsurable - well it would have cost more than the car so we did as Martin suggested and self insured him so we had the £400 more or less saved already so not too much of a shock there. This month and next month are huge outlay months for us so we need to tighten our belts a bit more to try and not go into our overdraft. I`m going to sort the reciepts and the bank statements tonight and hope that everything balances :D

DH is off fishing for the weekend and if i can get the house in order i may just decide to go with him, i`ve not been camping for a good few years but the houndies love it so if i get organised and we have enough camping gear for the two of us i`m off :D

Right i really must make a move. I shall pop back and catch up later.

 to all the new posters, nice to "meet" you all

    :wave:Welcome back Whatatwit!

    Have a good afternoon peeps.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Will you be able to hear the rugby? Or will you catch it on tv? Will be cheering for Leinster as I think Leicester have won too much this season!! (Can you tell they beat Sale this year!!)

Ah floss, the joys of Sky+ OH has it all set up to cover all the sport this weekend.:D I am rooting for Leinster though, Mum and Dad are going to the game which promises to be a good battle I think. Edinburgh will be heaving come tomorrow night though, lots of rugby fans.

    Afternoon all,

There is silence here as DD2 and girls have gone off in my car....may not even be back for dinner!

Warmer here but very heavy showers, going to hang out some clothes anyway as they are not needed urgently so will be so much clutter out of the house! Must iron a shirt for OH to wear with his suit to-morrow....normally just hang them up when damp and they are fine under sweaters...when we first met over 40 years ago he always wore a suit, took me years to wean him off them for casual wear!

Whatatwit, nice to see you back....have you any influence with any others who are MIA??

No bank holiday for us this weekend, it was standardised as being the first Monday in June several years ago, not that it makes any difference to us these days as we don't work any more.

Fancied some fish for dinner to-day, so splashed out €13 euro on some hake (for 3 adults and one child!), OH has just offered to make some nice mash and we will bake the fish and have something easy like frozen peas....there are a few broad beans which look readyish but might leave them for next week in the hope of some more. By the way....am going to freeze yesterday's leftover risotto as made way too much...any advice?

Got some fresh yeast when I was out this morning....€1.20 for 200g, so must freeze some of it....like fresh best of all for baking. Also managed to get a multi-grain sliced pan on offer for €1, so happy enough with purchases.

Going to have another 'root' in my bedroom for the charger for my camera battery...have obviously put it somewhere safe...but its not in any of my usual 'safe' places. Would like to be able to take some grandchild photos to-morrow, usually only have them all together at Christmas.

Hugs to all in trouble or who would like one, congratulations to all who are celebrating, good luck to all with exams. Have a nice day

Afternoon (another wet one) I'm envious of all you people with sunny weather.Supposed to be improving though.

Just back from town,my visit to the hairdressers and Sainsburys.Betheebee, I suppose i was a bit brave, had a restyle and there seemed to be quite a lot of hair on the floor :D I'm sure the cut will be fine but I'm not keen on the way its been blowdried - bit too 'bouffant' for me IYKWIM .As we are going out later I may rinse it and dry it again-it got wet anyway unloading the shopping!

Sunnyday -really pleased to hear little oldie is feeling much more comfortable when he goes out, thats great.A big doggy hug from mine.
Speaking of dogs I watched a prog on BBC3 last night called 'My Dog is a weapon',all about gangs who are using big breeds and staffies for protection and intimidation, training them to attack. The way the poor dogs were treated during their 'training ' was horrendous, fair broke my heart.

Well,my OS today is to put the yog maker on and do some swishing and swiping.I finally finished taking up my 2 pairs of trousers last night,so they need pressing. Not even any whoopsies to report.Last week at the same time I got quite a bit of meat and fish reduced but there was nothing. It seemed very busy, must be people stocking up for the BH

Enjoy the BH everyone, hugs for those who need one.x

Do it in portions then defrost and either micro for a few minutes until piping hot or pop into the oven for about 20 mins on Gas 5ish - as long as it's on for something else!

Redruby - thumbs up from all 3 of us here for the chilli/tortilla wraps/cheese in the oven thingy  The only thing I would say is that the wraps aren't quite as filling as if you had it with rice so I think I will use more next time or have something else with it.

    Evening all,

I'm sat here after having a soak in the bath with a large drink, em.. no it's not a hot one.
Really pleased with work on the stone walls. Had DGD at 3.15 so DD2 could take her 2 Labs for a hike. She is trying to loose the baby weight she gained whilst preggers. Good on her.
CRANKY, wow you kept that quiet. Celebrating 3 occasions in 1 evening. Do you think you will have time to watch a DVD. ;)
NIC1 LOU2, I'm the same with drink. One wiff of a wine gum ..... however, I do try to perservere.
TIRED MUM, It's not nice having the empty nest syndrome. Been there, got the wet tshirt, hankey, towels, tissues, red eyes etc. :o
CHRISCA, I echo your sentiments x
SUNNYGIRL, I used to do that with bin liners, if they didn't get emptied I used to walk towards the bin (making sure the girls were in full view of what I was threatening) Never did throw anything out.
SUNNYGIRL. Your Houndie. Because s/he is worth it. Good to hear you are still sharing company.
KATZEN :hello: RATTLESNAKE :hello: Welcome on board.

    Evening all
A whole week off next week, hubby is working so I will have lots of peace & quiet, I have loads to do at work, but the school building is closed for the week, so no-one can work. It was very busy today, we had a leavers assembly at 1 today & everyone decided they wanted certificates printed just a assembly was starting & also had loads of revision booklets to print for the kids to study over half term.
    Have a good weekend everyone.
    Hugs Hester
