You've noticed that, have you, NID? :rotfl:
Yes, I've been shuffling credit cards for years (to pay off the mortgage early and make a few bob) - long before Martin came along in fact - but I still go through this very handy checklist now and again before making a new cc application. It's a good read, IMO.
Cheers

Yes, I did notice it funnily enough! Every other post lol
Yea, I agree it is a good read - you should ask permission to add it as a sig though. I would!
So you're a classic example of tarting at its best then are you? :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

Absolutely.
Mind you, unless you have an offset mortgage or fixed-rate savings accounts taken out before interest rates dived, it's not so easy as it once was.
If you're intent on making a few quid using credit cards, the 0% on purchases deals are probably the way to go.
Very best

Yes, if this would be your first credit card in the UK, you probably need to be more concerned about actually getting a credit card, rather than looking for the best cards to meet your present circumstances.
The bank that holds your main current account may be the best place to start
May I ask which country you are from originally?
From Italy...
Btw, I have already had a credit card, amex, in this country. It was a company credit card but linked to my bank account and for which I was responsible and had to pay the bills of out of my current account. That was for roughly 1 year, even before moving the fist time. I do not know, though, whether it counts since I do not see that credit card in any of my credit report entry, not even for searches. Maybe the card refers to too long ago...0 -

All this seems to be relative and down to "luck", I would say. I have friends in a position similar to mine (roughly 3 years in the UK) who applied for PostOffice and BA Amex and the application was successfull for both, and those were their 1st initial cards! Another one received the credit card (with his own bank, though) even before getting the E/R form, after roughly 8 months in the UK.
They just do not seem to apply same weight, same measure, if you see what I mean...0 -

What do you guys think yes or no ?
Any update on this, PARIS 5000? Did they eventually ask you to send all the paperwork, i.e. certified copies of original documents as explained in post #1?0 -

I did not past the credit scoring this time but they said I can apply again in 6 months. I am a full time student so my earnings are quite low which is why I failed the credit scoring but I did past the ID check because I am on the electrol roll.0
