I don't know if you install a program or not but I should imagine it is safe with any anti-virus prog.

I gave your dll file a search but it didn't find anything.

Thanks so did I and ended up with the same! I did however manage to find this link on the link you gave me. This meant to help with that file but unsure of installing this if it is not safe with the anti virus

Start up in Safe Mode and move the position of the file as I suggested in post #8.

Not sure how you start up in Safe Mode on your machine. Perhaps by tapping F8 as soon as you see the black screen upon restart.

As I wrote before it apparently has something to do with DirectX Video Acceleration if genuine..

So start up in Safe Mode, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\dvxa232.dll and then 'cut & paste' it to your Desktop. Reboot and let us know what happens.

ok downloaded that Prevx 3.0 and this is what it had flagged

riched.dll in c:\program files\messenger\ Medium Risk Malware

That program only detects problems but doesn't fix them unless you buy the license key ... it is safe with my AVG so I assume it doesn't interfere with anti virus's.

Where will i find this to cut and paste? Should it just come up? Sorry for all questions been at this since 5pm!:eek:

Have you started up in Safe Mode?
If so, you can just open up say, My Documents and then paste C:\Windows\System32\dvxa232.dll into the address bar and hit Enter.

I would point out that I don't have that .dll on my Vista machine, so it might be Malware or simply superfluous.


I suspect that you have been infected. Try moving the .dll firstly.

If you can use Prevx, can you download and install, update and run a Full Scan with Malwarebytes' Antimalware?

Click Start then click on Run

Copy .. C:\Windows\System32\dvxa232.dll .. into the box and click ok - if you have a folder containing that file it will appear on screen ... alternatively you can do a search from your help prog.
