T-Mobile Connection Manager for the ZTE MF 626. Download and save to your Desktop.

Right click on the saved file and choose 'Extract Here'. If the option is not there, download and install WinRAR and then try again.

Only one more day to get the Huawei E160 for £9.99.
Should be able to accept any SIM.

    Sorry - beginner's question here.

Should this be able to accept any card because it will be network free on release or because there will be cracked firmware available?

    Cheers.
Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

Correction. It appear for the first time these modems have a SIM lock. Will remove the offending post. The pink Huawei E160 modem is still available for £9.99 and if SIM locked can be unlocked at no cost.

Anyone wanting to keep hold of the ZTE MF100 can get it unlocked for 7 euros with the DC Unlocker utility.
The T-Mobile MF 626 is still available for £18.99 with £10 credit and £10 credit via Quidco(though I wouldn't depend on the cashback with T-Mobile). You'll need an XP machine to do the 'unlocking'.

In addition, some may prefer to use the JOIN Connection Manager.

Can i just clarify - I have unlocked my dongle.

I am going to India and various places throughout the Far East this Monday - Do i simply buy a sim card with a prepaid data package and surf away?

    Thanks

I think this question can be answered by asking yourself, "how long is a piece of string"?

Of course each country will be different. Some will involve buy a standard SIM and purchasing a package via credit balance, others may be PrePay Data SIMs. Some will only offer EDGE. Some full 3G.

You need to do your research for each country. Not only that, but for the specific part of the country you will visit.
  • Hi Guys & Gals

Can anyone email me the ZTE 627 unlocking software as the link is dead or give me a new link>?

    Cheers
