  • I think Tosca is a brilliant choice. Very regal and cats are VERY regal.

I think Boo Boo, my Mum had a tortie cat just like that and she was called Boo, but when I was younger I couldn't say that so it kinda changed into Boo Boo and stuck...

Boo Boo is a lucky name, she lived til she was 23!

How about Pips, Lady,Elsa, or Blossom. My cats are Rags as she is a bundle of colours, Heidi as she is always finding places to hide and Tess as she is the more refined cat and needed a name to match..
I lost the plot years ago looking at my reasons for their names lol.

Aw don't be rotten to her .. she isn't plump .. she is just lovely!! ... poor cat!
And not having a name at her age? Heck, I even name the birds who come to feed in my back garden (Stumpy is a blackbird with no tail, One Feather is a collared dove with just one feather in his tail ... etc etc!!)

Everything deserves a name .. and she is just so beautiful and "dignified" in her pics that she needs a nice grown up name, so I would call her Belle ... lovely Belle, the tortoiseshell.

Love that one, it looks as if it might suit her.

(I'm glad to hear that it isn't just me who names the garden visitors :o)
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

How about Smudge as all of her colours are mixed up.
I like Belle though as a name and Bella in Italian means beautiful doesn't it?
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Bear in mind that you might have to stand in the garden and call her - you might feel a but daft if she has a very unusual name.

My ex wanted to call my cat Durutti. Eventually we settled on Spook.

We have a smudge, but she looks nothing like that....

Bella (the shortened form of Isabella) is a great old ladies name, she's getting on a bit and is a lady, so I do think Belle or Bella is great.:D

She looks nice and settled there in he pic, hope you all enjoy becoming a family together.:D

I agree. My husband had a dog called Happy and he said he always felt daft calling on her.

LOL, we were going to call a future dog happy.

All of ours have unusal names, I far prefer them :) Each to their own. One of the things about dogs with unusual names is that only your own returns to you when you call in public.

We had a few to foster (and keep) from our breed rescue when I was younger: some how we ended up with two dogs wih the same nme, a dog with the same name as one of our cats and a dog with the same name as one of our ponies. It was chaotic and kind of sad. I've always made an effort to minimise the chances of it happening to us again. :) But not tht well, obviously, if I was going to name a dog Happy when the nme is taken ;)

*LOL* ... this is a fun thread!

Years ago I had a greyhound (pearl brindle) called Barry ... stop laughing!!! Ha ha ha!

Reason being when he was first born, he was the runt of the litter and he would sit in the huge bowl of dog food and bop his brothers and sisters on the head when they tried to eat anything!

It was just about the time Barry McGuigan had his last fight so my Mother said, "Oh look .. it's another Barry McGuigan" ... and it kinda stuck!

Poor lad had an accident though a few years later and we had to have a big operation on him where they put metal plates and screws in his leg (he was fine after and lived to 16 years!) ... so he changed from being Barry McGuigan to Barry Sheen ... !!

Thinking about it, it's a good job I don't have kids ... considering I've a parrot called Elvis and a canary called Hamish, lord above knows what names they would have!
