For your information it wasn't out of date at all so that shows how much you know. It had everything totally up to date, had ALL of my accounts listed (not just 30%) & even showed the most recent balance on some of my credit cards. Oh and it also had extra information about addesses i had been linked to that even Equifax didn't tell me about.

Do you never get tired of being such a know it all? Yet again we get your arrogant 'I'm right & everyone else is wrong' attitude shoved down out necks.

LOL, ok whatever! You know best ;)

For the record these agencies do not and will not provide the same details as you'll getwhen you spend £2 and get your statutory report.

If you would like me to prove this, just say the word. I have a report from this 'rubbish' and my Experian/Equifax all dated the same and trust me all 3 are different.

Even reading from the website says it all: http://www.annualcreditreport.co.uk/help/faq/what-information-will-be-shown-on-my-credit-report.htm

I guess this means - ooops for aron! 33.3% x 3 =???? LOL there are 3 agencies, you get data from just one and that my son equates to 30% data coverage. Tut, Tut - and to say I thought you were good at sums!

Regardless, please don't try and advertise 3rd parties - if they were any good then they would be prominently advertised on here - they aren't, for one reason and one reason alone - they are rubbish!

Was I arrogant? I didn't realise that saying something was junk was arrogant, if so apologies

However, on this occasion (as others) you are indeed wrong, if we're pointing fingers...... UNLESS of course you wish to post your Experian/Equifax and free report all with the same date so we can see for oursleves that you're wrong.....

Woah folks - calm down - I didn't intend to start World War 3. I think my original point that the site is not highlighted by Martin in his article suggests anyone should be cautious if they decide to use the site.

Good luck with the job interview, I really hope you get it.

I would really recomend against going for a contract phone, if you don't have the money to pay the bill they will cut you off. So then you can't make the phone calls anyway, and usually they will stick on a late payment charge anyway. If you get seriously in arrears they may even take it to court (as they did with my brain dead ex, and that was only for £89!), which is the last thing you need.

Lol, you've not started anything. There are a few posters on here that mouth off cos maybe they don't agree with something that someone more experienced has personal in-depth knowledge over, but because their scenario was different they suggest the more experienced people are wrong - simply not the case.

Anyway - that aside, you're correct in that the linked site provided is rubbish and thus it is not advertised on this site - moreso because Martin himself champions going to the main CRA's to get accurate and in date information.

There have been quite a useful number of posts with cards that might be suitable for you to apply for but the main point here is if you aim to get the card to meet your day-to-day expenses with no/little means to pay it back then you are embarking on a very slippery slope. Rather, I would suggest that you find a way to balance your income (benefits) and expenses. IMHO £40 pm phone bill is way too high and I am sure if you look closely you will be able to trim off other un-essential expenses. In short, forget about credit cards find ways to cut down your expenses!!

I stumbled across that annualcreditreport site and considered registering. It said the credit report was free - that put me off.

I don't trust when companies use the word free.

I would suggest posting your statement of affairs on the debt free wannabe boards, while you're not in debt yet, you will be if you can get the cards, and everyone over there is very helpful and might be able to help you without you getting into debt.
