    Morning all

Not at work till tuesday now:j:j:j

Bright here at the moment but forecast is for showers so we shall see.

Busy day today really. I am going shopping this morning for some bits and pieces then have to be back this afternoon to wait for the engineer to come out to repair my oven. I have just this minute had a text message from him saying he will be with me between 13.00 - 15.00 this afternoon (quite impressed with that - I hate having to wait all day for someone to come)

This evening I am going to a retirement party at my boss's house - she is a fantastic cook and there will be about 20 of us going for a meal there so should be great fun (hence me having to dash out to buy a new SD card for my camera as our old one has gone walkabout)

I am putting a small gammon joint in the sc for DH and DD, as I will not be eating at home and will do a salad and hm potato salad to go with it . Will be glad when oven repaired - and yes it should be covered under extended warranty. Thank goodness I didn't cancel it - I nearly did earlier this year when DH was on really short time and money was very, very tight but decided not to:D

Right need to make a start, have a good day everyone - will check back on news later

    xxx

  • Hi everyone

The sun is shining here and i am stuck in the office :( i have only been here half an hour and i am bored already (which cant be good). Think i got a cold coming as my voice is going and i feel rubbish which is typical for a bank holiday weekend :'(.

I am not doing much tonight as i am again working from home so i will clean the chickens and might get a takeaway which i really shouldnt do as i am trying to save but we do normaly go for a meal on a thursday so hopefully it should be cheaper :D. Other than that i will be doing some washing and might get round to some studying.

Hope you all have a good day!

    Good Morning!

Weather in Sherwood Forest bright and breezy as it has been most mornings recently - by the time I've got home from work it's been raining heavily so all I can do is look at my little babies still in the greenhouse! Hopefully there will be some dry weather when I'm actually at home in the next few days to make progress in the garden.

Chicken Curry prepared for tonight and lots of healthy goodies in my little coolbag ready for another long day at work. I'm on my own this week and never seem to get out of the office so lunch has been out of date cup a soups and cereal bars!! Today I am organised!!

    Hugs for everyone in need.

    TTFN

    morning all!

am off to work in a bit till 10pm tonight - food ready to take with me, not much OS today - just a bit of washing, no time for anything else.

PenPen - re the magazines - perhaps there is a niche for an OS magazine, I'm sure nowadays it would be popular.

off for a quick surf before work

    Take care all x

    Hello folks
Seems to be a right old mix of weather with everyone. We have sun but heavy showers are forecast.
Plan to get dressed today as have had 3 days in PJs. Hope to stay up all day. Emailed work re some students' stuff and then rang a colleague who said that the first chap to go sick in our little staffroom of 4 (the one who kept coming in despite actually being sick ) has been off sick but came in yesterday looking really ill. I know it's horrible being off and you feel guilty for others covering classes but I don't think he should be in.

OS-wise not a huge amount going on but hope to get back on board. Actually, I've had 3 no-spend days with being in bed and must have saved quite a bit on the grocery challenge :rotfl:.
Must clean the surfaces of the kitchen today though. Have those anti-bacterial wipes - not OS but got them during Christmas hols- so will have a quick wipe down. Haven't done cleaning since the weekend, although DH did hoover livingroom.
Hope you have a good day all

Anyway thay phoned me up last week asking ,me to this interview its called pathways to work???? And everyone who is sick or disabled get one to find out what help thay can give to help you back into work.

Well im hopeing that thay will be able to help me to get back into work. (its beeen 4 months now since i lost my job)

    Morning all,
Just finished potting up 70 busy lizzies on the patio, it's lovely and sunny here. Our garden faces south and has very little shade, the begonias have suffered from full sun so have been moving them around so much I'm feeling dizzy.

Back to mixing lime cement and repointing again today, I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel,...... or is it a hole in the wall?

Yes SQUIGGLY, I am still keeping busy, I love taking on projects and feel very [STRIKE]smug[/STRIKE] satisfied when it all comes together. DH says I have ants in my pants.
Thanks for asking after DB's. We are flying out to stay with DB1 on 15th June. He doesn't say much about his "C" when I phone but will get the latest news from DSiL when we get out there.
DB2 has an appointment at the Oncologist today to see what can be done with the growth that is spreading at an alarming rate. Fingers crossed everyone please. :o

Having gammon, new pots and salad for dinner, fruit for pud. I made a concoction of chocolate, whipped cream, mini mars bars and digestive biscuits. I crushed the biscuits and melted all ingredients in a pan, lined a dish with clingfilm, poured the mix in a popped it in the fridge, will slice it and serve with the fruit.

PENPIN, Wow! do you have an army coming to stay? I'd love to know where you get sos casings from please.

Hope it's a good day for all.

Missing (((( SMOKY, HARIBO, CSARINA )))))

Hi all. Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Halight - have a great day!

Squiggly - yes, I am feeling more settled here now, though still missing the family like mad. Having Skype has made such a difference. I've been able to see DIL2's very pregnant belly, which she kindly showed us the other day - she looks about ready to have the baby but still has twelve more weeks to go! It's due in August, so we shall be coming back to the UK for a couple of weeks then . It's lovely also to be able to see the grandchildren when I talk to them on Skype, even though they are more interested in the special effects on their webcam.

Well, we had a terrific thunderstorm this morning; the advice here is to unplug everything, so I was offline for a couple of hours, waiting for the thunder and lightening to pass. It meant I got a bit more housework done, so was quite useful.

Dinner tonight is roast chicken (huge chicken legs we get here - they must be giant chickens!), with pots, courgettes, broccoli and gravy.

DH is helping a friend fix their leaky roof this morning - luckily the rain has stopped now.

I'm not sure if I mentioned yesterday that we are looking after our neighbours' dog, rabbit and fish. The dog is kept outside in a kennel, on a long chain. I feel a bit sorry for him, really, but he doesn't seem to mind, and it's a very posh kennel. We went over to feed him yesterday evening and caught him fast asleep, but he woke up immediately and was full of excitement. We let him off the chain and he galloped round the garden, growling at cats and birds. We fed him and put him to bed, then, at about 11pm, he started barking like mad. The last time he did that, he was caught up in his chain and stuck fast to the fence; the owners were out at the time, so we sorted him out. I was worried that he had done the same thing last night and knew I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't check. The drawback here at night is that there are no streetlights at all, because it's rural, so I dragged DH over with me - we must have looked a sight in our dressing gowns and wellies, carrying torches! Anyway, the dog was just barking to pass the time, I think, but we made a fuss of him and he settled down again. We'll take him out for a walk later today. Anyway, the rabbit and fish were no trouble at all!

Well, I'd better go and do something useful, I suppose. Only half the house is habitable so it cuts down on the housework at the moment, although the same-old, same-old chores still need to be done.

It's bank holiday today, so I won't be going shopping because nothing will be open! They have FOUR bank holidays in May here.

Have a great day, everyone, and good luck to those going through exams today.
