Did anyone get the nail buffer?? I got that message too and think that it has turned out to be very bad marketing on their part.

I signed up before it was posted on MSE, as I got a link via ASOS. I got my nail file/buffer. Its ok, nothing fantastic. Just a freebie which I am grateful for and even if I hadnt have got it I certainly wouldnt have been disappointed. I actually have bigger fish to fry.

Believe it or not many consumers do become customers with companies who send out samples/gifts. It is a good way for a consumer to test the quality and service a company has to offer before parting with any money. Many companies value this marketing tool as they understand the importance of attracting new customers to their marketplace, especially in the current climate where consumers are reluctant to take risks with their money. This is also a useful tool for recruiting consumers onto the company's mailing list, effectively payment in return for allowing a company access to your personal details. Would anyone have voluntarily filled out their name, address, etc on modelsownit.com if there wasn't the offer of a gift? I doubt it.

The website didn't mention that there was a limited amount of free gifts as far as I could see on the advert. I've applied for many free gifts and samples in the past only to receive an email saying that they've run out of stock but they've always offered a decent alternative or just asked me to be patient while they clear the backlog of applicants.



Sorry if this is a bit too in depth but this is a great example of very bad marketing - overpromising and underdelivering.

I think most of you are expecting too much. They're probably a new and small company. I got all the emails - ok - I don't get the buffer, but they were good to email but saying sorry and offering another offer. If you're really interetsed in the products it's a fantastic offer and they have some great products and colours!
