Not to get involved in tariffs?
Oh well in that case then I can easily win the discussion, because I'm from an accounting background, and I'm not going to make that decision without having hard figures in front of me.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
No, they don't get involved in tariffs - or any other detail at all.
Their training seems to scoff at the idea of having product knowledge:
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/no-detail-required.html
But bear in mind the only qualification needed to become a UW distributor is having the £200 it costs to buy in to the business!0 -
Right, I've printed pages off the comparison website, which shows the rates for the tariff I'm on now , UW's best tariff (the High User), and the one I'm switching to later today (I've just discovered I can improve on the one I switched to at the end of last year, so thats one good thing this guy has done for me)
I've put it all on a spreadsheet, and included all discounts and surcharges (such as the membership fee). This shows that if I switch to UW I'd only be paying about £7 a year more than I am now, but I'll save £177 by moving to the eon account I've found (plus get Tesco points)
If he tries to witter about reliability etc, I'm just going to have to nod sagely I guess, but insist that I'm buying on price alone.
Do you think a cup of tea and a choccie digestive will soften the blow (this guy is not a 'hard sell' type of chap, and I suspect he's finding this pretty hard) ?I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -

Currently npower standard sign online 12. It was fine when I last changed in November, but several have dropped since I think.
I have compared against the lowest priced of the UW tariffs, the high user. Our usage is fairly high, because I work from home, have computers on all day (and a server runs 24 hrs), and I'm disabled so tend to need the heating on more than most others.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I'll try, but my firewall seemed to cause all sorts of problems last time I tried to use Quidco (last time I switched), dunno why.
I'll try again tho.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
Surprised nobody has mentioned the confusing UW bills (or have they sorted that out)?0

They claimed they had done after it was brought up here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=20928007&postcount=2361
But all they did was correct their mistakes on the June 2008 bill they use to show how unique their bills are. (They chose not to alter the VAT to the current 15% on their membership fee, internet etc, so they still appear to charge 17.5% when since last year the correct rate is the 15%)
The real life saga of DaveW007 trying to get his real bill sorted just goes on and on:

Coincidentally there is an update today (but still his bill is hopelessly wrong:

I think that is actually illegal !!I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0
