  • As a checkout operator at Tesco's, I can say I have never come across an internet voucher. But would be willing to :Dscan any voucher for a customer in the hope that it reduces theis shopping bill. now I am aware of this policy I will also take advantage of it on my weekly shop. way to go guys keep up the good work ! ! :D p.s please be nice to us guys, it's hard dealing with problems on the front line. We're not all bad ;D
No reliance should be placed on the above.
  • Only last week, Had an irate customer who had just arrived from Sainsbury's. apparently she was using vouchers for percentage of her shop and was told they only accept 10% of total shop in vouchers ???. The customer walked out in disgust leaving the shopping to be put back on the shelves >:(. On arriving at our Tescos branch she asked if we had the same policy :-/? I encouraged her to use the vouchers and if they scanned then we would be happy to accept them ;D. (as a checkout operator, if we do have a 10% policy, I've not been made aware of it :)) Although I do advize to shop wisely ;), and not take advantage by using toooo many coupons on one shop as this could backfire. The last thing we want is a memo from head office refusing all internet vouchers. Happy shopping, guys, x x x

Still no joy for me so far
  • Shopped at Tesco in Hemel Hempstead tonight with a handful of internet vouchers. The young girl who served me said I couldn't use any as I hadn't bought the products. I told her I didnt need to and she started trying to scan them, they wouldn't scan so she started to type them in when a supervisor went passed.

Luckily she had typed in the £2 condom voucher when she started talking to the supervisor. The supervisor said I couldn't use any, again I said that I could and she agreed to scan "a few through" as a goodwill gesture.

Off a £22 shop I managed to get about £3.50 back so not too bad, its more than I would have got if I didnt stand up for myself. I think you just have to keep re-inforcing the fact that you can and say you have emails from CS's to prove it.

I have just had an email from Tesco to say that their policy on coupons has not changed at all.Below is a copy of the email I had today and also a copy of the original email I had.

    Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that the statement in the previous email is true.

If we can help you further in the future, please don't hesitate to contact
    us.
