  • Just wanted to add that I tried recently to use loads of coupons I had printed off from internet totalling just over £12.

Our bill before coupons came to £48.

This was the second time we had used coupons and not one was of any items we had bought.

First occasion the cashier asked her colleague on next till who said yes and second time cashier wasn't happy but I said we had done so before, supervisor called who also said yes. In fact he said as long as the bar code accepts then they would take them.

I have heard from a friend that Tesco take up to 10% of bill in coupons yet ours was 25% for stuff we hadn't even bought. (apparently Asda do up to 20% and Safeway 30%

We are ready to suffer the odd embarrassment at the occassional absolute refusal which is bound to happen sometimes if we get reductions like that ;D ;D.

In fact the only problem is finding the coupons on the net to print BUT when we do it feels like printing money ;)

LM can you please tell me the best sites for getting these printable vouchers?

    Cheers mate,

  • Danny,

No problem - here are the links for the ones I last used (apart from one that expired yesterday) ;D

    40 pence http://www.rustlersonline.com/moneyoff.asp

    40 pence http://www.heinzoffers.co.uk/

    40 pence http://www.mrmuscleonline.co.uk/

    £4 http://www.pampers.com/en_GB/home/jhtml/index.jhtml;jsessionid=2ZX3YXE2MGYERQFIAJ0XSSQ?_requestid=452643

    25 pence http://www.imodium.co.uk/

    30 pence http://80.75.66.21/btoh/voucher/loaf.html

    £8 roughly http://www.homesolutionsnews.com/rbdocs/index.html

    £3.90 http://www.wishvalue.co.uk/

This last one sends the coupons via post and last week totalled nearly £5 but they change now and again but you just keep reordering. I have them rolling for me, fiance and brother (shops at Sainsburys who do not accept them so gives them to us)

The others you usually need to sign up but believe me it is worth it.

Others like Rustlers you can just keep printing as many as you want.

Remeber also that even our Tesco will only take 1 of each coupon each visit.

Like I said previously we never even bought the products they were for but be ready for a refusal - it might just happen. :-[

If I find anymore I will post in this thread

    Happy Shopping

    Just posted this: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Students;action=display;num=1066292733

on the student board. Don't know if Tesco will accept the £1 off Havana but perhaps worth a try.
  • Just to cary on the coupon theme, our local Tesco have, thus far, accepted any coupons we give them.

In fact the last shop we did came to £51 and we handed over £24.85 in coupons alone and they took them - after a fashion.

Only downside was £8.45 wouldn't scan. The upsetting thing is that the same coupons DID scan the previous week so commenting on another thread I agree that it is pot luck.

Also as we left we spotted the cashier who the week before had taken even the ones that did not scan - he simply put them through as a N/S item which we guess means non or not scanned.

Still, I am hoping that very soon all £25 of coupons will go through in one go.

Just imagine if the coupons did all scan without fail. At £25 a week that would be an annual saving of £1300. Still since we switched from internet shopping to going to the shop we have saved £50 in the last trips 4 which is 20% of out total bills in that time. Even at that rate that would be £600. Where else can you get a 20% return on your money ;D

Actually, whilst writing this, I have had a thought. I will monitor to see if the coupons that do not scan easily are the same each week. If so, by using the ones that always scan and doing two shopping trips we could maybe increase our return to 40% ;D

At any rate we are extremely grateful that our local Tesco accept any coupons no matter how much spent and on what. Maybe we will do a £20 shop give £25 in coupons and ask for the £5 change. ;)

We also wonder if Tesco are more likely to accept them if they have stiff competition nearby ???

We also have other thoughts about different stores policies, but what crosses my our minds is Tesco could really twist the knive into sainsburys if it was a national policy - the sole reason we switched from Sainsburys to Tesco was because of the coupon acceptance.

I've got two codes sent in emails from Tesco.com (saying I haven't shopped with them for a while :'( ;D)

    XX5OFF75HRDR - Gives you £5 off a £75+ spend valid until 3 December

    :)

Someone's just told me the other link doesn't work. Perhaps its only valid with my Tesco clubcard number. Sorry about that. If the other one doesn't work for you can you let me know and I'll remove this post.

    Thanks

    Andrea :)
  • Last year on the run up to christmas Tesco were taking sainsburys coupons for their own products. On the site it says it doesn,t take the ones for particular products. I wonder if they will do this again. Last year sainsburys magazine, costing 1GBP had just under 40GBP in their December issue! Paid for christmas last year.....

I just did a great shop at Tesco (one of the big 24-hour ones). I only wanted a few bits so my sub-total was £7.74.

Firstly I got 20% off because I'd bought a bottle of Californian wine. I handed all the coupons I had to the cashier assuming he would do the usual "humming" and "haaing". He didn't. He tried all of them. They kept going through.

He gave me back the few that didn't work. He had taken £3.60 worth of coupons. This brought the total down to £3.24. I then used two of my usual posted Tesco vouchers totalling £3.00. So I ended up paying 24p! :o So, whats that, 97% saving?

I like it. I'm sticking to that one from now on ;D 8)

;D ;D ;D Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
I have saved myself a small fortune this week! I shop almost daily as I never know what I want to eat from one day to the next (not as time consuming as you may think when you are not browsing!). This means I am getting to use about £7 of vouchers a day and only paying a couple of pounds for my shopping!!

Incidentally, when you print off any coupons remember to select a high number of copies from the print profile as some sites only allow you to print one or two and this gets around having to log on more than once!

What are the "usual" Tesco vouchers?

    Cheers,

    Danny.
