So you expect them to give you money for the damaged shed and not take the shed? What do you intend to do with this shed anyway as you say you don't even need it anymore. His compensating for the cost of a new shed...not for you to buy a new shed, repair the damaged shed for next to nothing yourself and sell it on. They are being reasonable in my opinion as you wouldn't stand a chance of getting £250 for a 2nd hand shed even without damage. I'd gratefully take the money, let them take the shed and forget about it. Unless of course you've already got rid of the shed?!

    So to clarify.....

You had a shed that could have been classed as in 'almost new' condition

The builders want to give you £125 and take the shed.

You will be left with no shed and not enough money to buy a replacement. (The fact you dont need a replacement is irrelevent.)

Personally, I'd be digging my heels in. I dont feel that is a fair and just outcome, I'd be looking for some professional advice before replying to their offer tbh.

Edit: After reading andy's reply above, it's clear we have differing opinions and that's all we can offer....opinion. I really think you should get advice as I said, at least then you would know what what at least feasible to consider. There's no point in some of us telling you it's not fair, if in reality, you wouldn't have a hope of claiming any more from them anyway and perhaps you would be better accepting their offer. Until you know what you can or cant do legally, there's no point in trying to decide imo.

nope shed stored in my garage as his last letter was requesting the shed when they compensated me for the a new one. So i have it all stacke dup and ready to go when they wanted to collect it. I dont mind them taking the shed I think you are confusing my repleis witha previous poster as they mentioned i coudl sell the shed once they had given me £125.00. i was just stating that they want the shed as par to fthe deal. As for th eprice you will be surprised ive sold old greenhouses and sheds on ebay before which are rotten and still got very good money. The trouble is where the plasterer has stood on the roof the seal has broken and bent out of place where the panels slot together thereby causing the roof to leak, i dont think any amount of bending it back will prevent the roof from leaking in the future unless copious amounts of mastic was used to stop it.

the trouble the shed was perfect before they damaged it, now with the damage i have to accept less money or i just be childish about the whole situation and say ok buy me buy a new shed and sell it.
