oh well my attempts on at least getting some compensation from the builders has fallen on deaf ears. I spoke to one of the builders on tuesday morning and he said he would speak to the renderer but as yet I havent had them come round and offer anything. Hopefully the owners will pop round and i can speak to them at the weekend.
Looking today in the daylight it looks as if the guy put a bucket on there as there are plaster finger marks all over the top of the shed.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
Communicate (politely) in writing so you have evidence. The longer you leave it the more likely they are to say you are trying it on - you have photos which are great. It'd write to the firm and copy in your neighbour.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

The builders ave just turned up and i'm off to work tomorrow so perhaps if i catch there eye one of them will enage me about it.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
Take comprehensive photographs.
Then give the builders a 7 day deadline to settle up before you take the matter to the small claims court. You should be able to deal with the main contractor.
When this fails, take it to the small claims court. Don't let them get away with such shabby behaviour.0 -
Thanks, i see the builders in the garden saturday none of them said a word to me r even bothered to make eye contact with me! I will speak to the neighbours when i see them, a few quid would have been a good gesture. We are moving in a couple of weeks so have taken the metal shed down now, still have the photos though.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

Can you take some pics now with the plaster finger marks on the shed?
You know they done it, but proving it is another matter, unless you have proof.
Even though I work in the trade, I am very wary of other tradesmen, I have seen lots of things go wrong, whether its just lazyness, or clumsyness, or they just couldnt give a t*ss, its made me more vigilent, and I am always prepared lol.
I have worked with tradesmen, and have found the majority are very gunho, and its made me more wary.
On the few occassions where I have been with other trades, and I get a gut feeling, out comes my camera, I cant explain why I take the pics, but something tells me to take a pic to be on the safe side.
In all honesty, 99% of time I am glad I did, as its served its purpose .
I am not saying everyone should have a camera ready lol, but when you read the posts on here about things happening to other peoples property, like yourself, then taking pics is a good idea.
My friend's neighbour is building an extention, and my friend was worried about her fence, and her plants as the builders were very gunho.
I told her to use my camera at the beginning of the job, it shows the date and time etc, then if anything is different, take more pics.
She laughed at me and said I was too gloom and doom, ok, have it your own way I said.
A couple weeks later, (you'v guessed it), her fence was broken, quite a few of her plants were ruined, and other bits and pieces.
Like you, she fronted them, but of course they denied everything, and she didnt have a leg to stand on.
I hope you get it sorted out, as it definately looks as though someone has stood on it.
Let us know how it goes.:)0 -
hi, yes i have pictures, at the end of the day, the render splashes on the side of the shed match the newly rendered extension. including some pictures of a hand print.
We are moving in a couple of weeks so if i catch the new neighbours then i'll have a chat, trouble is like you said i dont have proof even though in the morning when i left the house the shed was fine, and when i returned it wasnt. The only difference was that the house had been rendered in that time! shame though, funnily enough i bought a house and will move in two eeks and need plastering done etc, i was going to ask them to quote me because up until then thy had done a god job next door, after this it put me off so i never bothered.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -

Take the builders to the small claims court for the cost of returning your shed to it's original condition. Which in practice means the cost of a new shed.
Builders behave like this because people are timid & hence they get away with it. Also, post the name of the building company on as many sites as possible.0
