But if you have a job, equity in your current property (bought 5 years ago) and prices off 10% (12.5% for county but less here) from peak then where is the problem in getting a mortgage?

Anyone else find that the prices seem to have been in sync for all property types over the period - data error methinks?
    I think....

With those rather specific points then I would be prepared to offer you a 75% mortgage. Depending of course on what your job prospects are (the industry you are in), and if you have a girlfriend / wife and intend to procreate in the near future.

It depends on your area. Prices are back to 2004 so far in my area, so those who bought in 2005, will be selling at loss (plus buying and selling costs).
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

you obviously haven't applied - if you have a good credit history and good deposit it shouldn't be a problem. also the LTV should stack up too if it's anything over 80%.

Well I am in the same area as Pickles and according to that link, we are down to late Summer 2004.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Thing is... I don't recall Pickles ever saying they had stopped selling. Like the docks thing - there never was a problem, never has been a problem, never will be a problem. Next thing he will say the docks has recovered from its problems.
