There are some belters on here.
Here are a few of my favourites, I like Georgian Architecture, lots of land but not over bothered about an enourmous house.

You know what, they still do. I always thumb through and have a chuckle when I'm in the Dentist waiting room, or at my barber who reassuringly has a copy of Country Life amoungst copies of Max Power, Heat, FHM and The Sun..;)0 -
Or a few more guest bedrooms for nearly half the price
(21 bedroom town house lol)

(Ok I admit I would not want the town house)
I'm intrigued by this house. Does anyone know who built it and why? Was it built as an hotel, maybe? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Knowing the area I would say it is a high status merchant house. Or ex dual use market building local law courts etc. (the law courts were often in market buildings) or possibly a vicarage.
Ludlow used to be a fairly high status town in medieval times with a large castle (still standing).
Any inn's/public houses (closest you would get to a hotel) would be more like town houses and not on the scale of that house.0 -
It would make a nice B&B/small hotel. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
