Good spot sir! I cant believe the developers have been allowed to destroy such a fantastic building by splitting it into 'apartments'...
really, it happens all the time. Not many people can afford to live in those big houses. And lets, face it, its not confined to castles. Most old family houses in London now house ''family flats''. One could argue the latter is a stronger case for outrage.0 -
Have you seen floorplan? Really weird - one master bed accessed through bathroom which seems to have his and hers baths a few feet from each other. Loads of staircases and those small circular bedrooms! Kit is on GF but D/R on FF. You'd need a full time cleaner. 7 beds but only 2 en suite. Big but worth £2.5m???????? Not of my money. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

ONLY 2 en-suite? I've never understood why people are so fixated by en-suite bathrooms. To me, it's a bit like being in an hotel. To my mind, I don't understand why you'd want to sacrifice valuable floor-space to a room I'd probably spend no more than 15 minutes in a day.
Luckily, we're not all the same0 -
BitterAndTwisted - I was being tongue-in-cheek, I've never lived in house with en suite, but the larger the family or the more guests you have, the more bathrooms you need. You and I don't waste valuable time in them but the female of the species..........If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I would want something a bit bigger with a bit more land for that money (and a swining pool would be nice)

Or a few more guest bedrooms for nearly half the price(21 bedroom town house lol)

(Ok I admit I would not want the town house)0 -

Quite like the first one, but Devizes is certaily more handy for living it up in London then coming home to your own bed at night.0 -

On a humbler note, annoyingly, this would be with in budget next year, but out of budget if we buy this year. I toyed going to have a look, but we can't aford it this year, so pretty stupid to get excited really. I think, at auction, it will go significantly over guide price. I like it,. even though its on the low side land wise for my business plans, especially as a proportion is water meadow and will be unusable for parts of the year.
TBH, I didn't think we'd see a house like that under £1 million in Wiltshire ever again.0 -
