Yes, sorry, should have made that clear; debt collectors, they look like. A firm called Aktiv Kapital. If it's not to do with the student loan, then I'm just going to put it in the bin - I've never borrowed money off of Barclays.0 -
If it makes any difference, the student loan company issued CCJ against me, but that was years ago. I don't know what Barclays or Aktiv Kapital have to do with it.0

Hi I would like some information please. I will be applying for a bursary for my daughter soon to live in at college through the L.E.A as before it was done throught the college themselves. Do they need the same information as before or do they also need bank account statements etc. Also what happens when a child turns 19 at college aswe wont get any benefits from the government, what can they claim themselves. We are on a low income and in the past got a bursary for most cost. She also got full EMA, now this has stopped whart are they supposed to live on, as I am not in the position to be able to support her really. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.0

I've never heard of Barclays having any involvement in student loans but I wouldn't just bin it. This could be an error or a case of identity theft but, in either case it needs sorting out before it affects your credit record.0 -

You can receive CB and CTC until the child turns 20 as long as s/he is in full time, non advanced education, which will allow you to carry on supporting her.0 -
Thanks for that I thought CB finished at 19 regardless.
Just need to find out if I have to copy all my bank statements for the LEA now,0 -

I'm afraid that there's no funding for private courses, although there might be at normal colleges.
I have to say that, if your son's being charged £3,000 for an extension to an NVQ2 in barbering, he's fallen amongst thieves; a part time NVQ course at a local college would only cost about £1,000, for the whole course. Sorry.0 -
please can someone tell me what evidence I will need to send at end of this tax year as my daughter's loan/grant has been assessed on "current year assessment" - we only have state pension & private pension & incapacity benefit & a little in savings. We need to send it quick to be processed so she will be in time for the uni bursary (they won't pay bursary until evidence received & loan fully processed & it must be before July)
also will we have to do the current year assessment form again for next year, our income will be similar to this year's.
thanks0
