sue - you can get the uk version at 4pm or 430 maybe, every day...

the aussie version is on sky real lives i think at 9pm ish...

i tend to watch both later at night when i have quiet time to myself... get down on the floor and do my wee workouts while it's on...

    it's very motivational!

    Hey everone.

Long time no speak! Fell off the wagon a little since I last posted but have managed to get myself back on, and am now weighing arounf 17stone 8 pounds.

I have a question I'm sure comes up time and again with relation to exercise. I'm a guy doing Sole Source, so I'm on 4 packs a day - which I believe is around 750 calories, perhaps less (I forget).

I've started walking to and from work since Monday, to ensure I get more exercise. However, we're talking 8.2 miles here give or take. Various online calorie counters have told me I'm burning more than 750 calories a day.

Am I in any risk here? Should I stop burning so much off?

    Cheers everyone!

Hi Gilzor.... First well done on the walking! i think the answer is very much down to how you feel on this one... if you are coping on the 4 packs and don't feel weak at all, then keep it up. But if you are feeling a bit weak at all, then you might need to cut back a bit.... maybe walk 3 days a week?

8 miles a day is a fair walk, but very MSE!

I am doing a pretty high level of activity and managing on my packs for the most part... so it can be done. But i watch how i feel, and sometimes i do have 4 if i need to. So maybe you can have a 5th, or even half a bar extra?

Once you get over the minimum calories used to sustain day to day requirements, i.e. all that are in your packs, you get into burning up the fat stores, which i always think is a great feeling!!! Purple peestix anyone?! Brill!

Gilzor, Does the walk make you feel dizzy or lightheaded, or severely out of breath?

If not you should be fine. You are trying to create a deficit in the calories you take in and what you burn, thats when you will burn fat and lose the weight.

On a VLCD, you do need to take more care than on a normal diet, and don't over exert yourself.

If you were running, I would say it was too much, but walking should be fine.
If you do too much your body panics and will start using muscle instead of fat for energy, and that is very bad for you.

I'll stick at it for now then, Maz and Duncan. Thanks for the feedback. Cerainly no case of light-headedness or feeling faint, just tired sometimes when I get back in the evening :) Oh, and a blister because I wasn't wearing adequate footwear originally, heh.

Good for you Gilzor, you should really notice a difference in your fitness if you walk that far.
Its surprising how big a difference small steps make.

My work journey is 7 miles each way, but theres a bloody big river in between, so would never make it!!
Unfortunately I drive from the front door of our house, to a contract car park 1 block from work.
I try and get out for a good walk with the dog, (Duncan) for a daily fix of movement. But looking to up the ante again from next week.

    Pre- holiday blitz.
