  • 07:53 30Jul09 GBP/USD: Extends North Towards 1.6470, Nationwide Data Fuelled

[06:53 GBP/USD: Nationwide Data-Fuelled Rise Continues] London, July 30. Cable has just notched a fresh intra-day peak of 1.6465 as GBP continues to benefit from forecast-busting Nationwide UK house price data. Offers are touted at 1.6470 (yesterday"s high) and 1.6500 (option expiry level). 1.6338-1.6405 was today"s Sydney session range.

PBOC Vice Governor Su Ning"s promise that the Chinese Central Bank "will
unswervingly continue to apply appropriately loose monetary policy and
consolidate the economic recovery momentum" (Reuters) is also lending support to the risk-sensitive pound. Dow futures are currently up 63 points. The Dow closed down 0.29% at 9,070 yesterday.

Still won't let me do any transfers, but looking on the website it says I'll be able to by the middle of the week. Mind you it doesn't say which week!!

Then I'll be shipping out some of my turkeys too! :D
