14:36 24Dec09 - GBP/USD: Cable Taking it From All Sides on Drop Back Into Range
Boston,December 24th.
Cable is taking a two-pronged hit at the moment. The dollar is
extending its gains, the ones accelerated by better than expected jobless data
and a good durables figure when looking at the ex-trans result. That"s joining up
with strength in EUR/GBP, which has been persistent since about the start of
London trading this morning. Clearly there remains some leeriness where sterling
is concerned in regards to expansion of QE by the BoE. The result is that not
only do we have a failure from the 1.6020 area earlier highs, we also have a drop below the 1.5965 intraday low put in just prior. That"s now got cable back into the range which dominated most of Wednesday"s trading. It would be no surprise at all to see a continuation toward 1.5920.Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
