Just to clarify - passport is in maiden name, hubby booked tickets for this holiday in married name.

The problem will be sorted by this time tomorrow.

To change the name on the ticket is £95, to get a new passport is £114 if I go to the passport office and do the same day service, so I have booked an appointment for tomorrow and will get a new passport.

I only had just over two years left on it anyway so I might as well do it now.

i can not believe a xchange of name is that much!

    New flight £95

    Change of name £95

    New passport £114
or £97 if you do a premium 7 day service.

Is that clear enough for you or would you like me to scream a bit louder alanrowell?

And if I booked a new flight, i would still have to pay for a passport some time in the next couple of years as mine is due to run out in 2011 (as I previously mentioned before you starting shouting) so I might as well do it now.

It kills two birds with one stone and is cheaper.

It's not an exchange of name. I have to be issued with a completely new passport.

I was going for a one day premium service at £114, but have decided to do a 7 day premium at £97 as they have guaranteed its arrival.

It's all done now bar the waiting.

Thought i'd bump this up rather than starting a new one - but can anyone help! I've booked a holiday for a group of us but just realised that I have booked one girl under her married name, but her passport is in maiden name. She got married 3 years ago - will a marriage certificate be okay to take with us? To cancel the flight is £60, to amend surname is £60 or new passport is £77.

    Flight is with EasyJet

    Ask EasyJet.

I could express an opinion, but if it all goes wrong I'm not going to meet the costs.

Ring eayjet customer services and explain the situation, they maybe sympathetic and change it free of charge, it could depend on how long ago you made the booking ie yesterday or ages ago. If they wont change it free of charge probably the best option is to get a new passport if you have the time as the person at fault in this is the girl who didnt tell you her passport wasnt in her married name.

not sure if you mean me or OP, but the one I had booked for hadnt changed it just for cost reasons - her passport lasts another 5 years so it saves the expense for a while. all sorted now phew!
