married but passport in maiden name

similar story - on friday i flew to eindhoven with Ryanair with a bunch of my girlfriends and when we booked the flight one of our friends last names was spelt completeley wrong...thankfully the check in staff did not notice this error and we all got on the plane just fine.

so it's a question whether you want to contact the airline about it or if you just want to hope they don't notice the error. tis up to you!

Hubby booked two flights to Malta a few months ago and we just pulled out everything and realised the passport is still in my maiden name. We fly in a couple of weeks.

Perhaps I'm not reading your post correctly but it seems like your flight is booked in your maiden name. If this is right you shouldn't have any problems as your passport has the same name details as your flight.

I think the OP goes by her married name, had booked a flight in her married name, but not yet got round to changing her passport to her married name.

In which case, it will probably be cheaper, for both this flight and all subsequent ones, to change her passport rather than to have her tickets reissued with the matching name.

I went on my honeymoon with maiden name on my passport but then again my tickets were booked in my maiden name.

I have sent my passport off to get changed.

Its a case of change everything or change nothing these days by the looks of it

I changed my passport to my married name before we were married. It meant I couldn't use it until after the wedding, but that was only a few weeks away anyway. Not much use if you are planning on marrying abroad though!

Right - I was reading it 'Ryanair flight and passport in maiden name', rather than 'Ryanair flight, and passport in maiden name'. :rolleyes:
Perhaps a way around it (if time is a problem) is to cancel the flights and then re-book in maiden name (I think cancellation charges are less than changing the entire booking).

Just to clarify - passport is in maiden name, hubby booked tickets for this holiday in married name.

The problem will be sorted by this time tomorrow.

To change the name on the ticket is £95, to get a new passport is £114 if I go to the passport office and do the same day service, so I have booked an appointment for tomorrow and will get a new passport.

I only had just over two years left on it anyway so I might as well do it now.

Also technically if you don't fly on a seat you've paid for you can claim the tax back on it, I'm sure Martin did a piece on it a while ago. Although I'm sure with Ryanair the admin fee will be bigger than the tax you get back or something stupid like that.
