hi, im encountering a problem with paypal at the moment similar to these and wondered if anyone could help me.... according to them i am 150 off the limitation for the year and they are asking me to set up direct debit thing.... however my account linked is a savings account. I rang them to ask what to do and they said add current account... i then tried this but they said it was linked to another paypal account. i had a different one about 6 yrs ago so it could be linked to that but im sure i closed it down. they then tell me i need to add credit/ debit card which i do not have , they told me to go to bank and get one... i told them bank wont give me one and they said that it has to be a credit card or debit card or do the direct debit??? so 45 mins on the phone to someone i couldnt understand left me in the same situation as before i rang. If anyone can help me i would be grateful

Try using a prepaid card if your bank won't give you one. Paypal (haha!) actually have one of the better ones (Royal Bank of Scotland I think, I have one anyway!), but there are others such as Virgin Money which although not so much good, are a solution.

I have got a Paypal one. Its handy for transferring your Paypal balances to:

    https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Marketing/general/PPTUCHome-outside

Virgin have got a reasonable prepaid one. Not as good as the Paypal one but worth a look:
