On that exchange you have a choice of O2, Sky, TalkTalk or Orange as the only LLU providers.
I would avoid TT and Orange. Have a look at O2, if you or he have an O2 mobile you can get a discount that brings the price for the basic service down to £7.34pm (otherwise £12.23 pm). Free wireless router, 24/7 free support line etc.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Bradford is a Market 3 exchange. Have a look at PlusNet Value which would be only £5.99 per month.Disclaimer

Plusnet Value fine on that exchange at £5.99, but bear in mind that this deal does lock you in to an 18 month contract. O2 a little more (with the mobile discount) but only 12m contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Checking what is available at exchanges doesn't always give you the right answer.
I was with Newnet for a few years and even now it is not supposed to be available through my exchange.
I changed to Plusnetvalue because of the price.
Newnet had a great Customer service even though I only used them during setup, didn't need them afterwards.
I'm happy with Plusnet value even though my download speed isn't what they suggested it would be and is 2Mbps lower than the Newnett download speed.
I don't notice any difference but I generally only surf and occasionally youtube.
Oh yes, you can also get a £35 cash back if you buy Plusnetvalue through Quidco. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -

ADSL broadband requires a working BT line, that's all. Your ISP doesn't know what telephone package you are on and they're not interested.
But BT who actually provision ADSL to your line, will not supply to a BT light user subscriber. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I wasn't aware of that espresso.
But aren't BT cancelling the Light User scheme anyway, to be replaced with BT Basic?
If the OP qualifies for BT Basic, he can obtain ADSL on that service now as they've changed the rules.
If he doesn't qualify, then presumably he will be on the BT Unltd Weekend Plan anyway, which does allow ADSL.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes ADSL is allowed on the BT Basic scheme but that is means tested, so not all LUS subscribers will get BT Basic. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
So how long will it take them to move people over? BT Basic was announced quite some time ago now.No free lunch, and no free laptop
