I thought there were jobs out there, well there are where I am.
Not as many as a couple of years ago and may be not with the same pay but there are always jobs out there.
I'm always interested in why people say that they can't find work, in my opinion there is always work maybe not what you would like to do but there seems to be work in restaurants or supermarkets even part time work.
His hometown is a bit trickier than most places. Seasonal, decaying tourist industry, not much other industry as such. One of those places that will re-generate itself over time but, in the meanwhile, has taken a hammering now that the funny money from HPI has left the area.0 -

Where Max lives has always been a "bit poor" and seasonal. Lots of young people turn up to do the seasonal work, backpacking, for the summer. Then everywhere shuts down.Badger2000 wrote: »

Supermarkets: prefer students or mums or semi-retired people, that don't mind being treated like sh1te. Also, there are queues of people for these jobs.
Part-time: restaurants and supermarkets mostly, see above.
I've applied for 3 jobs this week ... nearest was 100 miles away. I've had one "no thanks" and the other two nothing, even though I followed up my application with a phone call and my CV matched exactly what the advert said the needs were (specialism).
Actually, I could get a job very easily... but I was holding out for "the perfect job" and have now had "the perfect offer", so I am no longer looking as I have committed to a "new company potential" offer... I'm back in the entrepreneur game again.0 -

I am lost again....is this your own thing?0 -
I'm lost too. Please tell us more, PN.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I can't really .... it's all settled, but still has to play out and there's a lot to do in the next month. And I am off for a week jollying about near the seaside.
So, I'll spill the beans after Xmas.
I am very open about some things, but strangely I feel vulnerable about other things, so prefer to stay quiet. Also, it's horribly, horribly technical and I couldn't put it into plain English to be honest without a whole volume of explanation, diagrams and arrows pointing to motion.0 -
Whatever it is....hope it goes well. ;-)0
