......Ds1 keeps swearing-now he has started swearing under cover of acronyms eg !!!!!! (to his brother not us) and the like, he thinks we don't know what these things stand for but several years spent on internet forums and I know them all:rotfl:He's also started swearing in Spanish and French. I'm not sure whether to be impressed by this or not:rolleyes:....

Why not speak to him in French or Spanish, to demonstrate that you know what he's saying? ;)

........DS2 has just shown me that all his school socks have holes in them. Now I should spend my voucher on socks instead:(

Did he do the hard (:p) work involved to deserve the voucher? Buy the flowers from M&S AND some socks from Tesco / Asda!

    Afternoon all,

welcome to flissh and julietiff, its good here :D

i have been ver ver busy, cleaned all the tops of the kitchen cupboards, where does all that muck come from , really it has not been that long since i done them, cleaned out another 6 cupboards, will do the rest tomorrow.

Hoovered from top to bottom, mopped floors, scrubbed the bathroom, have been doing the hokey cokey with the washing, in out in out , but its now a beautiful day here, so have shoved another lot in the machine, should hopefully dry this afternoon.

Lemon and garlicy chicken roasting in the oven, to have with roasties, and i have peeled and chopped a load of veg, huge bag of carrots, a huge cauli and huge cabbage, i thought I would cook them all with tonights dinner, and freeze what we dont use, I have done this with carrots before but not the others, oh well it can go one of two ways :D

Potted on two cucumber plants which I bought on sat, my cue seeds just did not come up this year.

Tidied round the garden, pulled a few weeds, am now having a cuppa, my lovely mum :A is bringing dd home for me, which is a huge treat, so can relax for an hour now.

Beth, hugs to your db's xx

Diva, i have ordered another two loaves with my shopping, not sure if they will still have the tokens on, but will send on if they have.

    Take care all xx

    Afternoon,

Had another busy weekend. OH took me shopping and for lunch on Saturday which was great. We ended up coming back from town early to do the 2nd coat of paint in downstairs loo. We then went out in town with best friend, her fiance and families which was brilliant. Super food and not too bad a hangover on Sunday!
Went up to B&Q and got some plants in the sale which I was really chuffed about. Potted up 6 tubs with plants and emptied out the other 3 tubs of rotting soil and weeds:eek: Previous owners weren't gardeners and they left loads of brand new clay pots that just had weeds in them. So I have given them a new lease of life:money: Woohoo!
Never thought I would see myself gardening!
Finally hunted out the SC so tomorrow will be batch cooking evening.
Getting a load of second hand teaching books delivered today which I am excited about.

Need to make a peg bag:rolleyes: but that's just on the massive list of things to do. Managed to do all the ironing and cleaning as well yesterday so feel very accomplished:A

p.s I have to confess i am 26 and now a member of a well know Garden Centre's Gardening Club:eek:

    Afternoon all.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Oh, and before I forget, Good Luck to everyone taking GCSEs etc.

Busy weekend for us - we actually managed to do all the visits we had planned - brewery on Saturday, and the farmers market and the moot on Sunday,

I am cream crackered today, but have managed to have the BM on, and bread rolls are rising in the airing cupboard as I type.

Got some lovely chestnut mushrooms at the farmers market, so will be doing mushroom risotto for dins, and I've decided to do a chocolate mousse for pud; we haven't had that for ages. I have a recipe that includes fresh rosemary, so must dash out between the showers to pick it.

Found some slightly bendy celery in the fridge on Saturday, so turned it into soup - a recipe I hadn't tried before. I was a bit worried, as Mr LW isn't keen on celery, but I put extra onion in, and he ate it up and said it was good. *phew*.

MSDiva thanks for those sandwich spread recipes - I'll look forward to trying them. Specially like the idea of the cheese'n'cucumber one.

((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.

    Hi Guys!

Been at the hospital for the best part of the day. My bloods have come back poor again and consultant a little concerned. He is starting me on new meds next week and am back again in 4 weeks to see if Im improving. If not, I will be admitted for approx 10 days again.

OH is taking me away this week for a couple of days as the new meds Im starting arent very pleasant and we need to spend a little time together with no stress etc for a couple of days to get our head around things. We have some other stress atm too, so it will do us good. DD staying with friends.

WM is just about to go on and DW will be put on after dinner.

Sausage Cassarole is in the oven and have added frozen peppers, onion, left over baked beans and sweetcorn with a little tom puree and a Lidl sachet mix (17p) and it smells delish! DD has peeled some spuds, so will do creamy mash with it and some bread/butter.

Anyway, hope everyone is well and if Ive missed anything...sorry!

    ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Twink/Smokey)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    :hello:Good morning!

We bought one of those !!!!!!! Bags" from Lakeland and have found that although it works well, because the bananas are now in the bag, in the fridge, we keep forgetting they're there.......

I thought I'd typed !!!!!!! Bags" but apparently not

No, it doesn't seem to like the word banana having a capital "B", can only assume the swear filter thinks it's rude! LOL!

    Hi Everyone

Had to give myself a good talking to today, I have been faffing around with the scanning and sorting or paperwork but getting nowhere really, so got a bit more organised:rolleyes:

    Welcome Newbies

In true Pen-Pin style I've clean the loos.:D
Been shopping to Aldi and Netto, called in to pass time and had a coffee at Asda and ended up buying some clothes for me:o. Went to the Drs. for the results of a cholestral blood test, and I am good, no tablets needed. It seems there is a relevence to BP, and when mine was up then it affected the result, but not the tablets have brought the BP down the rest is good:rolleyes::confused::cool:.

I wish it would warm up, I am wearing layers at the moment to keep warm without heating. It's OK when the sun is out, but up until now the rain has been fairly persistant.

:grouphug: All those taking exams and their parents:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Special :grouphug: To those with thoughtless/braindead DS's and Stroppy/Hormonal DD's, rumour has it they do come out the other side as nice people.

We have had a lovely weekend with our DS, he went back yesterday with clean washing & ironing, Red Cross Food Parcel, especially a HM loaf from the BM, last portion of the fish pie I made, and the HM fruit pie, car cleaned courtesy of DH;), and lovely as it was, it is nice to have the house back for just us today.

Breakfast was cereal, Lunch HM Chicken Soup with BM Bread, Dinner will be leftovers from the weekend, Cottage Pie for DH and Liver for me. - Aren't you impressed, DS was with my Yorkshire's yesterday! I can do it just need the motivation.

DH has finished the clean out of the 'van so we only have to put food and clothes in and ready for the off on Friday.

:grouphug: Pen-Pin - hope the meds don't upset you too much :grouphug:

:grouphug:  to all of you, grab which you'd like.
    DG

p.s. WS - no throwing the dummy out of the cot - get back here and tell us what LB has been up to today.
