    Good morning all:wave:

Hope you've all had a good weekend. I have by and large although my kids have been making my very cross.

They all bicker so that mealtimes are becoming intolerable and as soon as the food is served I wish it was finished.

Ds2 has been in a silly mood all weekend and won't shut up about cars.

Ds1 keeps swearing-now he has started swearing under cover of acronyms eg !!!!!! (to his brother not us) and the like, he thinks we don't know what these things stand for but several years spent on internet forums and I know them all:rotfl:He's also started swearing in Spanish and French. I'm not sure whether to be impressed by this or not:rolleyes:

Dd just whines constantly. She has friends who live nearby and they all play outside in the road but now there are constant demands to 'go to x's house' or 'can x come to our house?' and tears when x goes out with her parents or when dd has to come in for meals.

Frankly I'm glad it is Monday:j I have my French class this morning which I love. I've also got a £5 M&S voucher courtesy of Directline Insurance. I'm going to spend it on flowers for me.

I'm behind with the breakfast so must get a move on -porridge and berries I think.

Lunch is soup for me and cheese and chutney sandwiches for the kids plus choc muffins and apples.

Tea will be a build-your-own salad. Cooked chicken, bacon, cheese, sweetcorn, grated carrot, salad leaves, hard-boiled eggs, avocado, tomatoes and whatever else I can find lurking in the fridge.

DS2 has just shown me that all his school socks have holes in them. Now I should spend my voucher on socks instead:(

By the way, can I just make it clear that because my kids are annoying me at the moment does not mean that I wish them gone. I love them all to pieces.

    Have a good day all.

All that and the footie :o You will be feeling down ;)

    Morning :hello:

My toms desperately need canes, 2 weeks ago mr tru promised to get some from his dad's house (they were ours to start with and FIL used them for 1 year then bunged them in his shed  ). Hopefully he'll pick them up today.

I know business is business, sales are sales, but I really didn't like that my cards were in shops that aren't local. So I've written final invoices and brought everything back home. I want my stuff to be so local that it's within bike-riding distance. It's supposed to be OS and it's great when someone wants a couple of things and I can have them ready the same day. It doesn't feel right when I have to travel 40 miles to go through what's sold, replenish stock etc. in a shop that has no interest in crafts, just money. This is a cottage industry, not an easy way for others to make money (it was done on a sale or return basis) :p:D

So today I'll be making new plans and writing lots of lists :D If the sun manages to chase the rain away, I'll put some washing out and do some gardening. If it doesn't, I'll meal plan and sort out the freezer.

Morning all - Rainbow weather here .... or it would be if thre were any sun.

Off to work in a mo - just taking some time out to put toast crumbs in the keyboard - treating myself to the bus as it looks a bit windy too.

nothing much os too report but i am slowly getting back on the wagon after the two week trauma of starting a new job with an hour commute either side - none of which pases conveniently by a shop.

Veggie babies were grateful for the rain and we have had a batch of radishes and lots of leaves. one of the salad planters has gone to seed already so I will start another one tonight if i have the energy

    have a good day
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Morning all,
I heard DH stiring at 6.20 so I went up and stripped our bed, DH said he was glad I let him get out of it first. All washed and hung it on the line it's gloomy but a good wind. Will iron the re-make the bed later. Windows open for a good airing, hopefully it will blow the dust away saving me a job.

Spicy carrot & tom soup simmering and BM on. Used the last packet of yeast so must, must remember to get some more.

One of our tennents phoned to say she spilt candle wax on the new carpet so will go down with brown paper and my iron. Hope it's not to bad. Hummmphh.

Hope to have DGD this afternoon, fingers crossed.

We met up with our Dearest Friend y/day, she was sporting her new wig and it looked so real. She's had the last of this session of Chemo and now has to wait 3wks for x-ray to see if it's worked.

Off to get the vacume out, hope you all have a good day.

Morning all. I've never ventured onto the daily thread before, please be gentle with me!!! ( I must be getting brave.)
We had a family 'Eurovision Party' on Sat night so have some food left in fridge that needs eating up, so interesting buffet style meals today.
Nothing much to do today except cleaning, and I'm putting off starting that.
Thriftlady spend your voucher on flowers for you, not socks, sounds like you deserve them.

    Morning all :)

Hope you are all well :) Been away a lot over the past few weeks trying to get things sorted out before exam season starts - I'm on call for invigilating again this year, so may have to drop things at short notice to run and do stuff.

The marking starts soon too - which for my exams are on-line again (significantly better than getting hundreds of scripts through the post like we used to though)... :) I have my desk cleared and ready. I sort of enjoy marking though - I find it quite relaxing. Good luck to all the people taking their maths today :)

And I'm moving labs again in two weeks - over to biochem this time, which is going to be a bit weird given I've been in my current department (albiet in different offices) for nearly five years now! It's only for six months (industry funded), then I really have to find a proper job.

OH wants to go away next weekend - which I wouldn't mind, but I will end up sorting it out.

OSwise I blitz-cleaned the flat last night and removed the primoridal soup in the fridge. We had pulled pork and salad for tea last night and I made rice crispie squares with some marshmallows I found in the cupboard. I also made some more lemon curd as OH is now refusing to eat the shop bought stuff (my own fault - I decided to make some to show him what it actually should taste like - it's one of these things that they don't have in Germany that he's only just discovered). Dinner tonight is beef strogenoff with some lovely YS beef I picked up last night in sainsburys and mushrooms I picked yesterday morning. Never sure what to serve it with though. Maybe salad - can't really do straw chips as I don't have a fryer.

My food bill has increased quite a bit as our somerfield has become a waitrose (but to be fair, it's still cheaper than the coop we have), it's not that I buy anything different, it's just that somerfield was excellent for whoopsies :) Still it means dinner is a little less random than it used to be. :)

have a good day all, cel x
