I'm on OVP Virgin and I have Orange World Access 4 bundle on my account. The pay monthly pricing guide is here. It says that the monthly price is £4 with an inclusive 4MB. Each additional MB costs £1.

I use Orange GPRS to access the web and view e-mails on my laptop. Under the Service Plan Summary section it outlines inclusive MBs used in the Orangeworld package, which is 4.0000. Above this, in the Usage Summary>Data Summary, it also says that I used 4.0000 MBs and 1.4953 additional ones.

There is also a section called Data Charges that shows the places called: Orange WAP and Orange Internet. Beside each of these is an amount of data and a cost. The total cost is £2.66, which by my reckoning is £3.13 inc VAT.

I've just called Orange twice. The first time I explained the issue, I was (supposedly) put on hold, then it cut off. I then called again, explained and was offered a refund. She also said (or implied) that they charge for full MBs; even still, that would not account for £2.66 (£3.13 inc VAT).

    This page says:
GPRS (packet-switched) data usage, including WAP and Internet browsing, is billed per byte and rounded up to the nearest kilobyte. A kilobyte is equivalent to 1024 bytes and a megabyte is equivalent to 1024 kilobytes.

I said that there must be a reason for this overcharging and thus it would probably happen again. Indeed, I believe that I was overcharged last month as I went over slightly.

The operator explained that it depends what sites I look at. I asked where it says what sites are charged at what rate; where are the terms and conditions? I eventually (again, supposedly) got put through to the Data department. I confirmed my details..... then it cut off.

Orange World terms are here. Is that all of them?? It seems clear cut to me. Every extra MB costs £1 (or £0.851 exc VAT). I've seen the Executive Office's e-mail get a mention on here, do you think that it's worth pursuing it with them?

I e-mailed the Executive Office and the following day I received a call from a helpful lady there. She said that I had 'Pay as you use GPRS' on my account as well as the 4MB Access Pack. So I was, in effect, billed twice. She corrected this and says that I will be refunded on my next bill.
