Does anybody know if you can freely access the internet through Orange World or is it just captive access?

you can freely access the internet. You would run out of things to look at after about 5 minutes with the orange pages!

3 are the only network with closed access

How do i get to the internet once i have opened Orange World?
  • select 'go to url' or similar on your phone and you should be able to type the address of any wapsite you like, some websites will work too. wap.google.com is a good start.

    hope this helps.

yes you can from 12 midnight to 12 midnight for £1 unlimited access. You have to connect your laptop to your phone; wired or wireless and then set up the connection to use the phone as a modem and then surf away

Is the PC connection cable, IR or Bluetooth? Are they the options?

Those are the options - all depends on what connectivity you have avaiable on your Laptop/PDA. I use IR.

Not sure what the best Orange PAYG deal is but my experinece is that the Nokias are much easier to play around with for GPRS connections.
