    Which airline/airport was this with?

Thanks again for all your replies, they're great food for thought!

Ryanair from East Midlands. Probably the best thing to do is find who is up for it/budgets then make a list of possibilities and check out the price of accommodation. Then keep an eye out for 1p or £1 flights to any of your destinations and when you see some go for it.

    Great advice - Thanks!

How long in advance of the flight do 1p/£1 deals become available? Is there any way of being "alerted" when they do?

Ideally we'd be flying from a Scottish airport - Aberdeen or Edinburgh would be most convenient...

I was organising a stag do a year ago and we considered going abroad. Once we realised how the costs started mounting up, we changed tack and rented a massive house in Wales instead and has a three day party in the sunshine. It was excellent.

Don't know if you've sorted it all out already or what but we went to a place called Old Great Marlborough that you can find if you search for Mountaingap in Google. Tennis courts, a pool and lush countryside.

    Good luck.

ten of us going to salou next week and we did it for £150 each all in{4 days},flights from ryanair, thomson hotel, travel republic for transfers.we had a choice of ibiza, majorca, benidorm etc.but salou flights suited us best for flight times etc.easyest way is to price flghts first and then hotel second as hotels are not really a problem wherever you go.if i could give you one bit of advice it would be to get payment up front,i was amazed how many people are all for going untl it came round to handing over the dosh, excuses ranged from can not get time off work to i forgot i was taking my girlfriend away that weekend. GOOD LUCK.
