This is what happened to me. Her back quarter and my front left collided. I really can't see how you can say your daughter is faultless. I'd love to know the outcome of this case.

What you seem to be missing is the woman was not prevented from completing her manouver by another car (person, child, etc).

She never should have tried it in the first place, my DD was virtually at the left turn when the woman just drove straight along & turned in front of her, she didn't even try & break & didn't actually stop till some way down the road.
My DD said she sat in the car staring ahead for about 5 minutes & wouldn't even get out & exchange details (I personally would have called the police when someone was behaving oddly).
One thing she did say (after giving her details) was not to contact her, as she didn't want her husband to find out:confused:

I think I see the connection.... There were no male drivers about!!

Just scanning over these replies seems to indicate all the accidents involve a female driver crashing into another female driver. :T:rotfl::T

The woman was driving a big BMW, my DD only has a tiny KA.

Bit bad about the back seats:rolleyes:
KAs are not great in crashes if you are in the back seat, not only will you have the crash propelling you forward, you may have the seat too:eek:
    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
plus a woman in a bmw? they should be banned just for their choice of car :o

Would be wrong but I wonder if BF could be used as a witness (so long as he's not named on her insurance policy and they aren't living together). Who's to say he's not an "independent" witness?!

What on earth?? That's dishonest. Why not be honest and use him as a witness and say she knows him?

If the other party found out, and her insurers started investigating, what if they found out? That would shoot the girl's credibility in the foot, wouldn't it?

Hey I did say it was wrong.

But fair enough they do tend to ignore witnesses that are not independent as no doubt they'll always give an account in that persons favour.

    To the OP

You will receive the paper work from the insurance company and this will allow you till describe the accident by drawing little pictures and writing a description, the insurance companies with then decide fault, if you decide not to accept their decision you can fight it and it will more than likely go to court, if you have legal cover this is not a problem if not it could be expensive. I understand that a lot of accidents are often decided to be 50/50

Often (although it depends on the repairer and their relationship with your insurance company) you will have to pay out the excess until the decision on fault has been made.

If your DD is deemed not at fault she will have the no-claims re-instated 'on paper' however she will still have to declare the accident and therefore as said above her premiums will more that likely be affected.

I hope her neck feels better soon I had bad neckpain after an accident it kicked in a couple of hours after the accident and was much worse the next day, but by the following day felt much better, and it certainly helped me to keep moving as it began to loosen up a bit (obviously you need to go with what ever medical advice you have been given). I decided to go back to work the next day with a few painkillers, as I needed to get back behind the wheel and it took my mind off it.

Finally your daughter really needs to sort this out for herself as much as possible.
