On start up of the PC, i get this message in a pop up box,
gcasServ.exe unable to locate, please reinstall
I have uninstalled a load of stuff lately, and must of accidentally done something to this programme.
I have goggled it but don't know how to put it back on. Do i need it ? How can i reinstate it.
(I can't run Crap cleaner anymore so i assume it may be part of it perhaps).
Any thoughts please...

Did/do you have Microsoft's Anti-Spyware tool installed?0

It is part of Microsoft's Anti-Spyware. If you have uninstalled it, perhaps it didn't uninstall well?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

May i suggest a system restore, back to before the popup came on, it may repair it.
then may i suggest you use ad aware and spybot for popups. both are free, easy to use. and with avg anti virus which also is free, will give you almost 99% security.you wont need anything else if used properly.0 -
install microsoft antispyware again, restart PC, delete microsoft antispyware, restart PC and problem should be solved.
if that doesnt work, click start>run> type "msconfig" without """ things>OK>startup... locate gcasServ.exe and untick it, click apply, then ok. grey box will popup, click "restart later" (or something like that), next time your PC restarts, tick the tickbox "dont remind me again" or "dont show me again" and error shouldnt popup0 -

Don't rush to update to Windows Defender.
I haven't had an signatures update since I installed it and lots of people over on the support forum are in the same boat.
No solution on the horizon0 -

Mine is 0x800b00030 -
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1186.0
Signature Version: 1.14.1325.6
Running fine, several updates received.0 -
windows defender looks sooooo weak! hate it! Antispyware looks so much better and looks like it can do the job. defender doesnt have any functionality at all and no options to tailor it to my liking. i shouldnt have upgraded, should have stuck with microsoft Antispyware!!!0
